I'm currently in a different state, and E10 Fuel is $0.50 cheaper than 100% unleaded. Google says the 2019 Ranger is fine with it, but I wanted to ask all of you if there are any drawbacks other than slightly reduced mpg?

It would most likely be 2 to 3 tanks total while here. So not a long term thing. E10 isn't available in SoCal that I know of.

E10 is pretty much all we have here in Va....reg/mid/high test are all E10.
A very few independent stations have non-ethanol, but VERY few.
I run mid-grade for everyday use, and premium when towing.
Rangers get along just fine with E10...been running it in all our vehicles for many years.
All it is ....regular gas with 10% ethanol, usually corn based.

I've never heard of E10 being discounted.
E85 is about 50 cents cheaper normally.
I think he's meaning that the E10 is cheaper than the non-ethanol gas. Same here where when you can find non-ethanol gas it's .50-.60 cents more per gallon.

Correct. Non ethanol gas was $3.49, E10 was $2.99.

Also, thanks everyone!

Where I'm from in Wisconsin all our regular gas is E10 and our premium tends to be E0 but usually about .80-.90 higher than regular. Mid-grade can be E10 or E15 depending on station. E15 is about .05 to .10 cheaper than regular. If it is E10 then it .20-.25 more expensive.

Our trucks will run just fine on E10 or E15. I run E15 mid-grade must of the time.

I can find Ethanol Free at certain stations. 87 Octane Ethanol free is easier to find than 91 and seems to carry a little less extra premium price tag than 91 (probably because more station feature it). The one station within easy driving distance that has 91 Octane Ethanol Free charges $5/gal.

In the winter I burn 87 Octane E10 (averages actually about 6-7% Ethanol where I fill up). In the summer and when towing, I burn 91 Octane E10 (again, averages around 6-7% Ethanol).

For flex fuel drivers around me, they get screwed. E85 is only about 10% less than 87 E10 and you are going to take more than a 10% hit on mileage when burning E85.

On your gas cap it should say it is good with E0-E15

No drawbacks other than slightly reduced MPG

I run splash blended E20, tuned, other mods

In western PA all gas is E10 unless you look for ethanol-free 90 octane which is about $1.10 more a gallon.
I run E15 88 all the time with no ill effects because it's cheaper than 87. I drive a lot so it adds up.
I do dump in a bottle of Chevron Techron Fuel System Cleaner at every oil change to keep deposits off the injectors. Had it happen on my old truck.

I've run the 15% ethanol before and didn't notice anything different. It was usually a tank here an there, not multiple in a row. I don't know if it's because it's getting old or because they want more people to try it but sometimes 15% is a buck cheaper at Sheetz. When they do that I get it.

I live in Massachusetts and we have had nothing but E10 since the 90s. I have never had an issue with it even in my lawn equipment or my 68 Barracuda.

We don't have specific pumps or stations that list it as E10. But every pump has a label that says "may contain up to 10% ethanol". We also have ethanol free at some stations, for an increased price of course.

I thought it was commonly known ethanol was added to bring costs down? Our trucks are approved to use up to 15% ethanol but I feel the higher octane the better for turbos.

While I've run cheaper-than-premium 94 octane E30 I don't think our fuel systems will run well on E85. Too bad since it's super cheap 104 octane.

Stopped at Buc-ees on a recent trip and E0 90 octane was cheaper than 93 octane premium. I run a mid grade tune and won't run regular or 88 octane E15.

not sure why they make an E10 distinction in other places, maybe because they offer both but in most of CA you are getting what is technically E10 quite often. All ARCO gas is at least 10% ethanol, i avoid it because it doesn't seem to run as well in my vehicles but check any gas pump in CA it probably says "may contain up to 10% ethanol" // sometimes it does sometimes it doesn't but point being / you're already using it some of the time. It doesn't get as good mileage but otherwise is ok to use, as noted above up to 15% is ok/
