I get a "Low key battery" warning about 2-3 times a week. Key has a brand new battery in it. But beyond that, I have to reboot the entertainment/nav screen using the power and FF buttons at least every other day. Sometimes a couple times per day.

What is your Build number? The current version is Build 23188. Most earlier versions were "buggy". If your Ranger is not up to date, that would be my first step.

They may be related, as the PATS System is looking for a FOB and may be causing issues with the Sync getting an authorized power up via the Wake Circuit

Have you replaced the battery (again)?
Have you tried the spare FOB?
With same results (Low Key Battery) Message

If yes, then I suspect an issue with PATS, Scan for Codes and perform a BCM & IPC Self-Test. For the FOB Issue.

If good, then do a RTM Self-Test

The BCM test will cover all PATS related Antennas,
The IPC test, will cover the Message
The RTM test will cover the Frequency Com between the FOB and the RTM

I "updated" mine, via a thumb drive, once when it was about 6 months old, but haven't done any others in the 5 years I've owned it. Never had to do a hard reboot either. I did unplug the BMS terminal plug a few years ago and only plug it into a Battery Tender if I get the "low battery" notice on the radio screen. The BMS program needs to be updated by Ford. The engineers at Ford have already done a re-write for the F-150 after they realized all the F-150's that were awaiting a chip or module in their MASSIVE parking lots, all had dead batteries. It seems that there was a butt ton of parasitic draw from stuff they thought was turned off after turning the key off.....they were wrong

The only time I have rebooted mine was because it wasnt picking up the android auto wireless dongle I use. It wasnt syncs fault, it was the dongle. But rebooting sync gets it running again. Even then, it has only been a handful of times

Never have had any real issues with the two vehicles I have owned with Sync 3 or even the one with MyFordTouch.

The Ranger I have rebooted maybe two or three times a year. These reboots are because I have gotten an icon on the nav screen saying there is no GPS even though it is tracking my location correctly. Rebooting Sync is to satisfy my OCD not because the system isn't working.

I've never had to reboot anything like that. '21 XLT Sport 4wd with tech pkg.
