I just looked at the updates site and I'm no longer seeing that I could update for free. I figured that would be allowed for at least 3 years from purchase, or until used. But 5 years would have been more appropriate. I normally use my phone for navigation anyway, so the truck built in navigation would only be used for emergencies where I'm without my phone, or it broke. Currently there is a bunch of construction in the area (bypasses around towns), and I was just checking what version they are up to on there, I'm still on 2 20 for a truck with an Oct 21 build date that I bought in Nov of 21, and noticed my free option is not showing now, I know in the past when I've looked it was there, and I never proceeded to update it as it was not needed then. I planned up updating with the free update in Oct of 2026 just before my 5-year mark since I didn't see any "*Free update offer only good for x months from purchase" disclaimers when I bought the truck.

Can anyone find any documentation that would clarify exactly how long that offer is good?

This does bring a question though, for those owners who bypass using the Ford update and use Cyanlabs - can you update the system and maps if you are out of the free update period?
This may be an alternative solution- IDK , just a thought

I was thinking 3 years as well, but I can't find any documentation stating that, so unless someone can find something stating that, my update appears to have expired before I was expecting it to. I was checking to see if it showed any "use by date" since I'm coming up on 3 years since I bought the truck. I would rather wait to the 5-year mark since all the bypasses should be done mid-late next year I think, and then that should give them time to update the maps for the following year.
