Last automatic I owned was a C4 3 speed & don’t know what’s normal with 10R80 10 speed. Reading about problems here in the forum now every hard shift and whining noise is causing me 10R80 paranoia! And dread dealing with TSB 24-2046

I'm more worried my tailgate damper won't open fast enough in sub-zero temps, while on vacation, where there is frequently sub-zero temps.

My original DeeZee is still running like new at 120K...lowest temp around 15F...

I just ignore the quirks until something really weird happens. The truck is a big damn computer with some possible screens of death.
That's a really good point of view. But it's a big damn computer connected to sophisticated mechanicals. Glitches could potentially cause more than a screen of death. A filter screen of shavings?

No point in worrying about something you cant change. Keep up on maintenance. Im doing oil changes every 5000 miles and ill be changing trans fluid every 30,000. Checking fluid levels once a week. If transmission dies young it wont be because of a lack of maintenance. All newer rigs seem to be having more and more problems. Just more shit on them to break i guess.

Yep, there's not a lot to get worked up about.

Ignore Fords 150k mile change schedule, do it around every 30K (Optional, use Lubegard), buy an extended warranty, and whatever else happens, happens.

So far it (forum) alerted to possible issues, and use some common sense. Differential fluid was black @ 3500 miles, @ 6100 miles I got extra capacity PPE pan, changed fluid, and filter.
Why?I tow camper in Fl heat. Do whatever your gut says.
