The Icom 2730 has a faceplate that uses a smaller connector like a phone cord (when they had phone cords) and the mic uses a larger size. I don't know why the difference, but... here we are.
So, the RJ-11 connector? Guess all 6 pins in it.

Finally changed the taillight screws but I had become paranoid about theft before realizing my taillights are not very desirable (no BLIS, no LED and far less expensive at like $120 each for aftermarket ones).

As I whined earlier, I wanted spanner drive (snake bite) but couldn't find button heads and I'll probably go to a smaller washer, they are a bit big and will hold dirt ...

And I love this little Wera tool set, it's so fancy and cute. But nice with knurling on the sockets - the ratchet is pretty tiny for putting any force on anything, this task probably pushed its usability.

be gone ye vile pink 8mm, thief-friendly screw

that's one huge washer! =p

easier to install than the floor mats! air gun to clean bed for possible bladder install later

supposed high-precision bits, I dunno, seem to work like any other ...

hi-viz yellow on the 10mm for easy spotting? =D

pretty tiny ratchet but smooth operating (just like me, Cheech, and Soupie) =)

You and I know your tail lights aren’t the fancy schmancy, expensive LED version but the crack heads who steal them might not - anything to slow them down helps. ?

@subquark - I want you to know I go through an internal struggle every time I post a product, as a digital friend to you, I feel a bit of responsibility because I know you are going to buy these.

I love Wera tools too. I particularly love my Wera 4-in-1 Joker self-setting ratchet spanners.

https://products.wera.de/en/joker_6004_joker_self-setting_adjustable_spanner_6004_joker_4_set_1.html

Enjoy them!
You know, I looked at a few videos of these but couldn't tell how useful or practical they might be.

BUT ... being the enabler that you are (and that's a compliment since I'm always itching to pull the spend-it-for-the-Ranger trigger), I think you just swayed me to get them.

I see them for about $160+ online and, if they're pretty handy, then that's not so bad.

Thanks! =)

@subquark - In all seriousness they're good for when you're having to tighten a fastener you can't look at while you work on it. That's the advantage of the self-setting mechanism. Otherwise you're better off with a nice set of Knipex!

Or, even better, a nice set of both! =D

Oh man, I better fertilize that money tree, I certainly spew enough b.s. to do so!

I needed a way to mount my GMRS mic, HAM mic, and inReach Mini 2 out of the way. Dash tray was the only thing I could think of, so... here is the new dash tray. The rail is 67 Designs, the arms are 1 cm Bullet Point Mounting Solutions, the left mic mount is from Jeep Uniq, and the right mount is from Bullet Point. The Icom 2730 uses a hook style mount while the Midland MXT 275 uses a button style mic mount.

Here is the whole setup reinstalled in the truck. The inReach does have power ran to it. This does not obscure my view out the front, even though this picture makes it look like it does. I just took a nice long drive to sell my old bed rack and had no vision concerns.

I picked up the Mountune Intercooler back in November and finally got around to install it. Most time consuming part will be the removal of the front fascia. My biggest gripe with the kit is the use of digital instructions. There were no paper instructions. Just a small paper with a QR code. While they are in color and you can zoom in, I prefer just having paper instructions that I can just read, rather than always having it grab my phone.

Upon removal of the factory pipes I noticed some of them had small traces of oil in them. I am not running any form of catch can, but may reconsider that. I did notice while I was under the truck that I believe my passenger front shock is leaking/failing. I noticed the underside of it had a coating of oil/fluid on it, as well as the frame area behind it.

That's what it looks like over here too.

I love when it snows and people drive like there are no rules: "oh that light has been red for 5 minutes? I can't stop because of the snow and must run through it without touching my brakes."

We are having very different Februarys. Did you do the charge pipes or just the intercooler?

We have had two small dumps of snow since the beginning of December. A couple of inches each time and it’s gone in a day or two. It’s been above freezing more than below. It’s like early Spring here in Toronto.

I’m all too familiar with the driving conditions in your video but we just haven’t seen them this year………yet.

Stay safe out there.

That we are ? Hi today during the install was 77°.

Intercooler came with their boost hoses. Unlike other brands that use a hard pipe on the hot and cold side, the Mountune uses a hard pipe in the section with the BOV. From then on to the Intercooler and the cold side it’ll be a reinforced hose.

Wait, isn't that how it's supposed to work? Snow on the road means there are no rules, right?

Lol

Always.

Slow and steady wins the race.

Fast and stupid gets you wrecked.
