What’s your MPG now? I’m lifted with 285s and average about 18.5-19.0. That’s mostly highway as my commute to work to and from is about 55-60 miles a day
Same. I right get around 19 city or highway. In fact, if I push it too fast on the highway it gets worse than that. Where as my full size Ram with the 5.7 Hemi would get 17 in town and 20 on the highway (at almost any speed). I thought I would get better with half the displacement and half the cylinders.

On the flip side, I didn't think I would get as much capability as I have with the Ranger.

Is there a difference in size between the Lariat & other trims? I thought it was just the amenities.
Battery size and cover are different, I just put a Lariat size H7 = 12 7/16" long compared to stock XLT H6 = 11" long, width & height are the same. H7 has 850 CCA vs H6 760 CCA. It will fit but it's very tight per my experience. If you go to H7 you will need a different cover, hit up Benny@Levittown on this forum.

Gotcha. I hadn't quite caught on that Nate was referring specifically to the battery size. Damn cold is clogging my brain. Thanks for clearing that up.

No problems with my '22 XLT. Ever since I put on a MBS dipstick my fuel dilution in the oil stopped, tranny shifts better, bed height lowered 3", mpg increased and picked up 5 1/2HP. Very happy with mine!

I'm obsessed with my truck. I wash it when its clean. I look back at it when I walk away. I take glamour photo shots of it. My wife thinks I'm in love. ?

That being said, I have some disappointments with it. And that's hard for me to say, considering there are parts on my truck that have drawings with my name on it. ? I've had several mechanical issues, like the drive shaft center bearing going out, stabilizer bar issues, rear brakes trashed at 40K, and the shudder on takeoff. I'm also disappointed with the output from the drivers footwell heat/ac duct. Mine is VERY weak, and I can't keep my feet warm. With no heated steering wheel (on any 5g trim level), I'm struggling to keep myself warm while also defrosting the windshield. Might be a small issue to some, but is a big issue for me whenever I drive in really cold weather.

Luckily, none of those issues are related to the parts that my company makes.

On the plus side, I REALLY like the drivetrain. The 10 speed trans can be used in many different ways, and I use them all. If it hangs in there for the duration, it will be my favorite feature of the truck. It, and the nicely powered 2.3L (with a tune) make it fun to drive.

Should I have purchased a different truck? Definitely not. I really like it, but like me, it ain't perfect.

And if you add 285 MTs, it'll drop down another MPG...in my case, went from 18 down to 17...going back to AT next time around...

I'm happy with mine. Do I have disappointments? Yes. I think the interior is a bit dated, but I upgraded from a 2009 Outback so it's still fantastic in comparison. Sync 3 is a bit clunky, but aside from intermittent glitches it works for me. I don't do much with it and I don't use an android or apple app, per se. I use Bluetooth to connect my phone, and I use an old IPOD or USB stick to play music. Sometimes I use Waze, but usually just use the ford nav.

I upgraded the rear shocks, and I'm satisfied and don't need to replace the fronts.

A few days ago my keyless entry wouldn't unlock the door. First time that's happened. I could hear it click but the door wouldn't unlock. I used the fob button to unlock, and then the next time it worked. It may be a battery issue, who knows. it's a 2020.

My mileage on a stock Lariat is around 21-22, and on highway I get around 24-25 if I keep it at or below 70 and don't have the AC on. It's gone up about 2-3 MPG from new.

I'm no expert on Fords, but I recall riding in my Aunts Mustang II back in the 70's, so I can reliably say that was a POS.
I had a '79 Ford Fairmont and that was a massive POS. The engine block cracked in Galveston, in the summer ...

But I do love Soupie! =)

It does all I need and is very comfortable on short and long trips. And it's Cheechie approved!

My only complaint is the acorn-denting thin sheet metal.

Had mine around 2.5 years, 25k miles. First new vehicle I've ever owned and came from a Mazda 2006 B-Series (which we kept) so it felt like a spaceship with the 8" screen and auto transmission etc. Never had anything but 92 in it and oil change, rotation every 5k. My wife thinks I'd sleep with it if I could get away with it. Would have liked the Tremor trim but it's paid off now and I'd still be paying it if I got that.

Done all the small mods, engine cover, missing tie-downs, stubby, mountains2metal front grille etc, lettering on the back etc but nothing major. The back is a bit bouncy, our poor pit bull was sick after a long road trip the other day so might look at some sort of suspension upgrade in the future. Apple Carplay can be a bit glitchy but nothing that won't sort itself out eventually. The collision sensor goes off randomly on occasion but otherwise no problems, touch wood, and I think before my warranty is up I might extend it just for peace of mind.

Still on the original rubber which looks in great shape. Don't like the wheels so that's another thing on the list one day but not in any rush. I love the Chevrolet ZR1 and ZR2 and the new Tacomas look interesting but I try not to get sucked into the "I need another truck" syndrome when the one I've got is fine. So far so good then. The dealership sucks and I hate getting anxiety every time I have to go in there but as they say "it is what it is."

Oh and it saved our bacon when a massive snowstorm hit Portland unexpectedly and my wife had to abandon the Mazda on the freeway. I had to drive into the eye of the storm and find her by the side of the road. It was terrifying and absolute carnage, cars abandoned everywhere. Took us 9 hours to get home in what is usually a 1 hour trip. But the 4x4 was amazing and I honestly feel like it saved us from serious harm. Another time when the US-30 was blocked by a landslide, it got me to Astoria via a one hour detour up logging roads in a full on blizzard. Once again, it handled everything like a champ. I owe it big time.

So that's that. Safe travels comrades and enjoy this wonderfully festive time of year.

No idea how your and my opinion line up, but I thought the butt was sort of bouncy, too. I have an FX4 so not sure how it compares to yours, but I put Eibach Pro Truck 2.0 on the back only, and it made a world of difference. I'm completely fine with it now. I can tell the front is still 'soft' but doing the rear is night and day. At the time I did it (2021) it was $200 and I installed them myself without jacking it up. I'm handy but no mechanic by any stretch and all I had to do was use a ratchet strap to compress them and bolt them in place.

I’m not super impressed with any new trucks on the market today and you’d think one brand would be better than the rest but go look at the other truck forums and you will see all of them have their issues. No matter what vehicle you decide to purchase, prepare for the worst and have some money put back or consider the extended warranty. I got the basic warranty and it gives me enough time to save up for repairs later. Luckily we got eachother to share our issues and solutions.
