But they aren't all like that. I've had good experiences and bad experiences with dealership service departments. I have a 3 strike rule. After that third strike, they're out! Only one dealership has had three strikes, and that was in a space of two weeks. The incompetence was mind-numbing. I will never do business again with Rowe Auburn. My wife questioned why i drove 45 miles to Yankee ford for an oil change and then she scheduled a service appointment with Rowe for her Hyundai. After one visit she said "I see why you drive 45 miles for an oil change". After working with Bill Dodge in Saco and Brunswick, Rowe was a major disappointment. Yankee Ford was the exact opposite of Rowe. They always blame it on the techs so just another day of the blame game!
Living on the road now, I keep a mental tally of Ford Dealerships that I would and would not hesitate to use again. Jones Ford in Buckeye: Good. Jones Ford in Casa Grande, not so good. Strike one. Don't make stuff up because you won't think I'll know any better and then lie to me while mis-identifying suspension components. Mainer Ford in Bristow OK, good. Vision Ford in Alamagordo: good. That Ford Dealership in Moses Lake WA. Not bad, not great because I went in for an oil change and transmission service and they couldn't do the transmission service because it was their first one and didn't know how to do it. In their defense, they did research first and realized they didn't have the parts to do it correctly so did nothing to damage it. Something to do with drive shaft and one-time use bolts.
So yeah, Now I'm down near Yuma going to another dealership for an oil change and rear brakes, but it has almost 60K miles, so I get it.
