Are tire sizes the same all the way around?

Same brand? Same tread depth?
Matching tires, yes. I haven’t measured the tread depth but I run studded snows in the winter and the stock Grabber’s the rest of the year. Rotated every 4-5k.

Had to replace my rears at 49k. Pads and rotors alone were $250 and the e-brake just sucks getting the rotor off. They all do. Was told the traction control uses mostly rear brakes so I started thinking.... I have the Livernoise tune and don't really baby it so I shut traction control off to see what happens. Comes loose easily at 1/2 throttle, so that is most likely what caused mine to fail a little early.

Thanks for the suggestion but I've tried driving this truck with the traction control off and it's not good. The rear end fishtails very easily.
There is your answer! If turning off the traction control causes sliding well keeping it on uses the rear brakes to prevent said sliding.... Drive less crazy rear pads last longer.

Note rear brake rotor on the raptor r because of traction control systems.

Plot twist! Dealer #2 diagnosed this as a bad drive shaft and not the brakes. The drive shaft will need to be replaced (under warranty) but it is backordered with no ETA. Fortunatley, I'm told it's safe to drive the truck in the meantime.

That certainly makes more sense.

Makes me wonder why dealer #1 doesn't know the difference between a driveshaft and a brake set up......:turkey:
more money for new brakes not covered under warranty. Service advisors have kids to feed, too

In a recent (Jan 2023) poll regards least trusted professions auto sales people ranked # 3 , didn't see service writers listed but it's a top 10 list, so maybe they have figured out how to fly under the radar ?

They always blame it on the techs so just another day of the blame game!

Kudos to dealer 2. But I don't know if I could drive around with that noise.

No reason to rip someone off.

What about boat payments :) . I've not dealt with service writers in over 15 yrs but last time I do recall they tried to sell me on replacing brakes - I think for them it maybe an easy sell because a lot of people get worried regards brakes and more money in it for them than filters and wipers.
