Transmission fluid change, brake fluid change and fuel induction service. Are these gimmicks or something I should actually be considering at this mileage? If it makes any difference, I've always used 93 gas and synthetic oil every 5k. Also, now that my factory warranty has expired I'm...
I can confirm these are from White Knuckle. So far they have refunded me the $190 cost of the powder coat option but I haven't heard back from them on whether they can do anything else. I asked what kind of warranty is included and did not receive a response.
To address the question of how they...
They all told me they have seen this before with rock sliders, they're hopeless and just rot from the inside out when powder coated.
I found one local company that was willing to sandblast and Line-X them for $600.
These rock sliders have been on my truck for 18-months and 2 New England winters. They began to form visible rust within just a few months of going on my truck. At this point they might be ready for the scrap yard. I called around to a bunch of local powder coating businesses and no one will...
Good point, this compressor says it requires a 15A
Interesting. I’ve used it before without issue and with other vehicles as well. Not sure why the shop wired it to the 5A switch.
I just checked them by eye and they all appeared mint. According to the aux switch diagram in the owners manual #6 uses a 5A fuse. Here’s a link to the compressor in question. It seems to have also died in this event when the power tripped. I tried it in another car and it’s no longer working...
I have an ARE cap on my truck that has a dome light and power outlet (little box with 3 cigarette lighter DC ports). Both of these are wired to aux switch number 6 (the aux switches that come on the dashboard of the Tremor). Today while I was using a small compressor to put air in the tires...
Interesting. Mine does not sound anything like that, at least not yet. They only mentioned the driveshaft and weren't specifc about bearings but I'll ask when I pick it up tonight. How long did it take for them to fix yours?
Plot twist! Dealer #2 diagnosed this as a bad drive shaft and not the brakes. The drive shaft will need to be replaced (under warranty) but it is backordered with no ETA. Fortunatley, I'm told it's safe to drive the truck in the meantime.
Matching tires, yes. I haven’t measured the tread depth but I run studded snows in the winter and the stock Grabber’s the rest of the year. Rotated every 4-5k.
Good to know about the grinding noise being an indicator of the worn pads. Thank you, would have been nice if the service advisor could answer that question.
I don't drive aggressive but if I have in fact already burned through my rear brakes, then why is there a grinding sound coming from the wheels when they are not being used? There is an audible noise from the wheels as soon as they start rolling, no gas, no brakes. Perhaps this is normal for...
