Glad it gets a bit better. If I’m light on the throttle on small hills the engine will be in 7th at 1100-1200 rpm’s giving me a rumble strip vibration. Once it give it gas it goes away. Makes it hard to go the speed limit in these situations lol.
Use the button on the side of the shifter and downshift to 5th or 6th. I do this often. Speed limit through town on the way to work is 25mph. Lockout down to 5th and rpms are about 1400-1500 at 25mph. Much better driving without the rumble-strip you described.

Yeah I just unhooked the battery which according to the manual will reset the adaptive learning. Truck had a previous owner who drove 1700 miles in about 9 months so probably a bit different that how I drive.
that's not how that works. too late now, but next time don't do that. what you have done is restart the clock on how long it takes for the transmission to learn internal tolerances. at 1700 miles it was probably almost done.

I took some time and dialed in my transmission shift points and pressures and my truck is way more enjoyable to drive now. And... My MPG went up. I haven't even touched the engine tuning yet.

Thanks. Yeah I’ll have to get in the habit of doing this. This truck is a bit different than any of the others I have owned.

Same here. Give it a try when you're out next and let us know what you think!

I have had absolutely no concerns with the transmission.... Until yesterday. It all of a sudden started shifting weird. It felt like it was bouncing up and down between gears.
Then I realized I somehow put it in "S".
I shifted it back to "D" and all is good again.
I do want to mention that I drive like an old man where I'm in no hurry to get moving after the light turns green. I'm very light on the gas pedal for pretty much all of my driving.
I know I haven't had my truck long, but with all the threads in these forums, I expected to have immediate concerns. So far, so good.

Depending on how many miles you have now it's probably still somewhat breaking in still. If you haven't already you can always get the extended warranty up 'till your 3/36 is up. It's my first time ever buying one but that's what I did and now I'm glad I did.

Personally I feel 100K (or is it 150K ?) is way to long to wait to change the transmission fluid. I change my oil every 5K just for piece of mind so most likely I'll be changing my trans fluid sooner too.

The most manual automatic I've ever owned, except the Fuller RTO 10 spd CAS3 in my company Kenworth: 10 forward, 2 reverse and none of the right ratios.

I have 30k miles & no issues.
I might have issues at 50/100 or 200?

That's the way I've been driving around town since 2021; below 45mph start locking out upper gears.

Why is everyone complaining about everything on these trucks? I didn't even know there was an issue with our transmissions? I drive mine every day, it has a whopping 5500 miles on it and I don't have or I don't think I have any issues?

But honestly, if I was just some random DA guy out there, looking at buying a Ranger and accidentally found this forum before buying one, it would probably deter me to buy something else....

Seems like a lot of yall just complain about normal wear and tear with these trucks, ??...

Sorry to rant, it's just every time I come to this forum, there's a new post about someone complaining about something that's mostly nothing... Example: "The other day, I filled up my tank with fuel, all the way to the top, but the more I drive it, the more the fuel level needle drops, does anyone else have this problem or is it just me????"

That's why I stayed away for so long... That's why my father-in-law will not register on this forum....

Maybe I won't get banned for my ranting...?

I agree. I have had my truck two years now and 30K miles. No issues with it. Biggest complaint i have is having to make payments?
