I don't have a problem with oil conversion as long as it includes data, sampling, and usage. At PRI 2019, I attended an oil class and the biggest thing they (oil manufacturers) hit home on, was what I've always said... You choose oil based on usage. If you're going to use an engine in an abusive, high load manner, you need an oil that can handle the task. If you're in another category, another oil may be a sensible choice."Ford Boss Me" on U tube is starting a series on oil(personally I would rather run barefoot thru a minefield, than bring up oil), and he is sending out new oils for lab testing and comparing the additive pkg. So far, Castrol Edge is his favorite, but he just picked up Wall-Mart, O'Reilly, and Advancd and Fram, so stay tuned.
If you ever want to do something "exciting", go to The Studebaker Drivers Club Forum, and bring up the subject of oil. Then stand back and watch the fur fly!
