Had mine in recently for the battery. They put in a new battery and said it still wasn't charging correctly and now waiting on a battery monitor sensor to come in.
You should take it in and have it checked out.

I will always test the battery myself before going to the shop. Why? To test their credibility and to (hopefully) stop a potential 'parts cannon'.

In my case, the only issues I had were ass not working and occasional warning that system was shutting down to save battery. Battery voltage was normal as was charging voltage and no codes stored.
Thus, off to the dealer for cannon fodder. ;)
Edit-also used a charger to fully charge the battery and ass still didn't work.

I'm having issues of late also. Auto-Stall stays turned off, but something tells me it's not the battery in my case. Has never failed to start but I, too, get the 'low battery' warning even with a fully charged battery and the charger still connected.

Others have mentioned a potential software issue...

It doesn't have time to die. You haven't stopped driving it since the day you got it.?

Too many parts are thrown at vehicles by incompetent mechanics. I've had good luck with automotive/powersports batteries overall, especially after practicing a bit of 'diagnostics'.

Only extremely rare, 5g Ranger 'special editions' have the following: (special thanks to Msfitoy).

Good call on an aftermarket AGM. I have had two vehicles with optimas for over 10 years each. Sold them both with the same battery never an issue.
Optima isn’t nearly as good as they used to be. I’m done with them.

@AzScorpion Can you refresh my mind on the jump starter you have?
Steve, I bought this one here. I haven't had to use it yet so I can't comment on how it works but all the reviews were good. Project Farm on Youtube did a comparison one these and this one came out on top. It also has a temp range from -40 to +149 degrees. I will say that I check the charge on it every 3 months and it's still holding strong at 100%.

I've heard similar comments regards Interstate batteries - battery life is dependent on so many variables or as shown in this thread YMMV . For that reason I have bought my last 3 replacement batts at Wally Mart - at one time they were supplied by Exide (not good) but now by Johnson Controls, who make the Duralast (and many other brands) I used to buy but as prices rose switched to Wally's
When the AGM batt in the Ranger gives it up I may switch over to wet cell lead acid and change the charger algorthym.

I first became acquainted with these (HD-Commercial version) when AAA showed up for a boost after a co worker's jumper cables failed to start my previous Ranger. These modern battery boosters really rock!
