And what about other sources of CO2 and hydrocarbons? Gas heating, charcoal and wood fired grills, SxS', and ATVs, lawn mowers, boats & ships, aircraft of all types, locomotives, construction equipment, farm machinery... what else am I forgetting? Looking at the big picture, personal ICE vehicles are a rather small part, but represents the low hanging fruit.
Actually personal ICE vehicles account for 41% of C02 emissions globally.

Where are people and other animals on the list? We all exhale CO2.

We will all receive mandatory lithium treatments to reduce our carbon footprint just like EVs. If you've read my posts you may conclude I've already been receiving regular treatments.

I just read that Bank Australia has announced it will no longer finance new ICE cars, only EV's get a loan.

I suspect this is probably going to turn out to be a sleeves off your vest kind of move, but I did have to say, "a bank with a conscience, you don't see that every day..." :)
Bank Australia are a very "socially conscious" company. They won't lend to any business in any dirty, polluting or exploitive industry. A lot of people here use them for that reason alone. They also manage to have pretty competitive rates.

More lithium we don't have.

Interestingly, the aggregate of the other sectors equals the CO2 emissions of passenger vehicles(cars).

Is ICE powered mass transit(city & school busses, passenger rail) included in the medium/heavy truck or shipping categories, or not represented?

Has CARB or any other federal or state agency proposed or enacted legislation to ban or restrict sales of ICE-powered commercial transportation?

Agree that we need to reduce the carbon dioxide being put into the atmosphere. CO2 is heavier than oxygen, and slowly it sinks to the ground on its own. But CO2 from all sources, human, biological and natural activity (animals breathing, forest fires, cooking etc) is being put into the atmosphere faster than it can precipitate out and be absorbed. Limestone stores about 80% of the trapped CO2 in the form calcium carbonate; the remnants of sea creatures. Photosynthesis is the other major contributor of CO2 absorption. But these processes are too slow to reduce the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere as fast as it is accumulating..

All true, but you forgot the Oceans as a huge carbon sink, but the efficiency of the ocean to absorb carbon diminishes as it warms. Mass transit was not included just persona vehicles, but they account for the vast majority of vehicles on the road. California has 12 water desalination plants now, with 15 more in the planing stage, also pocket nuclear plants (think aircraft carrier size) to produce power dedicated to Hydrogen gas production facilities.
I think hydrogen electric powered vehicles are the best way to go. No batteries to recycle, unending supply of water, zero emissions with only a little water vapor as a byproduct. But its not my call :)

Electric vehicles are terrible for the environment, much worse than Co2

As The NYT reported last year, "production of raw materials like lithium, cobalt and nickel that are essential to EV technologies are often ruinous to land, water, wildlife and people."
The massive devastation caused by mining these materials for EV’s, not in the USA btw, is unimaginable and unrepairable, must worse than any oil pipeline can cause. Seems that’s not important to the hypocritical tree-huggers in the US.

Nothing more than a feel good jester to make someone think they’re saving the planet.
Going to pickup trash on a greenway or clean a polluted river would be more productive and responsible.

Hydrogens problem is storing the hydrogen I think. The tanks need to be under incredible pressure and if involved in an accident, the big danger is the hydrogen igniting. If they could solve the storage/safety problem, hydrogen would be the hands down winner I think.

Yes, stored at 350 bar (10,000 psi) in a 5KG (10lb) tank. I have stored compressed air at 5,000 psi in a run of the mill 100cuf steel scuba tank, so double that in a purpose constructed tank is not hard (there are more than a few of these on the road). Hydrogen does not normall explode when the tank is punctured, but ignites and burns as an almost invisible high pressure plume, very hard to see, have to look for the heat shimmer, which makes it so dangerous for 1st responders.

yes sir. thank you ! I wish folks would realize this. Sure im an old fart that is stubborn but i just cant fool myself into supporting ev when the logic for them just is not sound. if they came up with more efficient ice or something that was actually a win win id be much more open and on point with it.

wow, I dont know if I should laugh at the situation or be sad.
be sad. I know I am. All them Californians will realize how dumb this is and move here. Then they’ll vote like they did and make Colorado worse than it already is.
