Some residents of the Golden State are rightly concerned about the power grid, I have a simple solution, just take the necessary power from a state where less than 10% of energy comes from renewables, yet the blame was placed on solar and wind when their power grid notoriously failed, same state that has made countless fortunes and billionaires from favorable energy legislation, same state which they claim to be heaven on earth where residents in large numbers flock to the centennial state each summer and many even buy homes and god forbid more here, let's all play name that state.
The technology exits as proven in some progressive countries - but it is going to be costly and won't happen overnight. I still have to grimace when I see posts discussing how effective solar energy has been in reducing their home energy bills, plus they gleefully cite how they use gov incentives - yet they join in the chorus here with those expounding the reasons why EVs aren't a good idea.

I'm a California native of 58 years. What most have said on this thread about how California has gotten to this point is fairly on point. I look at California as a great example of why the Electoral College system works for our country. It gives the less populous states an important voice. If we didn't have it, our country would be going the same way as California. The densely populated liberal cities would control the vote and the middle of our country would have no recourse to prevent it.

I've loved California and it saddens me the direction it has taken in the last 30 years. We've done so much to increase the quality of our air that we've gotten to the point where it takes twice as much money now to achieve less than half the gain. In addition, taxpayers are footing the bill in an effort to save the rest of the world.

I live in San Diego. We already have the highest energy prices now and close to the highest gas prices in the country. This past week we've had energy alerts because the grid can't keep up with demand. I don't even want to start on home prices.

Are we going to completely rebuild our ailing electrical grid and provide enough "Green Energy" for all these electric vehicles in 13 years? Many engineers have already pointed out that most suburban neighborhoods in our Golden State could not support more than 20-25% of homes charging only one electric car overnight.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand that this isn't going to work. But boy, it sure gives you that warm and fuzzy feeling that you are saving the world though At some point, we as a state have to accept that facts actually trump feelings if you want to accomplish real goals.

If this follows through, we will have daily rolling blackouts, sky high energy prices, and a less mobile population like a 3rd world country. However, we would be going around patting ourselves on the back about how great and progressive we are as a state.

I have nothing against E.V.s However, I think we should be setting mandates to improve our electric grid and figuring out where and how we are going to get the power first before we start setting dates to ban sales of gas-powered vehicles.

Agree with your post, it will take big $$ to update the grid and where those $$ come from is a big question, but perhaps someone with deep (bottomless) pockets like our gov is going to help, may help or should help. Timely to mention that today the 1st launch in the Artemis program may happen - program is projected to cost $93 bil, NASA's annual budget is currently $25 bil, the cost of getting a man on Mars is estimated to be as high as $500 bil. If transitioning to EVs is a critical piece of saving the planet - couldn't, shouldn't we maybe spending those hundreds of billions right here on the planet, or maybe like in sci-fi novels the plan will be to colonize mars with wealthy earthlings as the earth becomes uninhabitable. And now we have a new org, the Space force spending $25 bil annually. I'm scratching my head.

The 'green energy/EV scam will only work after a massive 'depopulation' takes place.

The current COVID 'debacle' isn't the first attempt. The honors for the first attempt go to the Rockefeller Institute of Medical Research, founded in 1901.

By 1918, a lab created 'bacterial pneumonia' mis-named the 'Spanish Flu' was ready to be deployed.

Soldiers at Ft Riley, KS were the first receipients. By the time the 'experiment'(?) had run its course in 1923, 100 million were murdered out of 500 million infected worldwide. The 'experiment' was deemed a failure.

The current attempt at 'depopulation' (by the same 'people') is well documented and promises to have a far worse death count.

Thank you for putting into words of how I feel and think.
One has a difficult time finding an adult, California born native, in this state.

Well said, I was born and raised here before entering the Military 94553, then moved to NorCal 95713, a much better place to grow up.
