What? No one has shown the price of E10-E15 in comparison to Reg?

I know in my area the few times I looked the cost was the same or more as Reg. No savings to amount to anything, plus reports are you’ll get worse mpg’s.
I see no advantage at the pump, then add higher food costs.

Then there’s this tidbit;

“Biden’s plan, like other options to stall rising gas prices, isn’t likely to have a big impact if enacted. Only 2,300 US gas stations—about 1.5% of the country’s roughly 150,000 fueling stations—sell E15 gas.”

Like a lot of things today, much ado about nothing.

I don't know how common E15 is nationwide, but it's so rare here in NC that I have yet to see it - I'm not looking or it anyway so that could be the reason. The Sheetz convenience store chain (newcomers out of Pennsylvania) carries E15 and advertises it as a 'high performance fuel'.

No Sheetz close to me and they can keep their 'high performance fuel'. No doubt some people will fall for the nonsense. Buc-ee's out of Texas is starting to make their presence known in the region - they advertise E0 motor fuels. Wondering when we'll see one...

Yeah the article I read said something like 2000 out of a couple hundred thousand stations sell it, though my number is probably off it is in the 2 to 3 thousand range

I had a 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid and it was supposed to get 44 MGP. I was using regular ethanol gas and only getting 36 MPG. I changed to Non Ethanol gas and it was getting 42+ MPG. I also have rode motorcycles most of my life and will not use any ethanol gas if possible due to what it does to any thing with a carburetor. I have a friend that works from home on motorcycles and he told me a long time ago ethanol is bad for the seals and gaskets in carburetors. It made him a ton of money fixing all the older motorcycles carburetors. The same with lawn mowers and blowers and edger's. No Ethanol. A question does anyone use non ethanol gas in there Ranger? I know it's about a $1.00 more a gallon. I use premium only. This is a good thread. Lots if view points. The main thing is Ethanol is not what our government says it is cracked up to be.

I've been using E10 in my lawn mower, snow blower and pressure washer for 10 years. I just shut the gas off and let them run out what's in their lines before storing for the offseason. Never added a stabilizer, but I do try and siphon out what I can from the tank. I have never had any issues with them not starting the next time. Granted, my equipment is all from 2010+, so maybe it was an issue prior to then.

This thread is turning into the same shit as the threads about premium vs. regular. There will never be a shared view, just a bunch of whining, and eventually name calling. If you feel strongly that E15 will harm your engine, don't use it. If you believe that everyone is out to get you, don't use it. If you trust the engineers that tested and approved it for use in our Rangers, then don't sweat it. Life is too short...

As gas prices started increasing last year I switched over to E15 fuel at our local Sheetz stations on our 2020 Ranger and 2015 Edge. With a savings of 25 to 30 cents per gallon it was a no brainer. I have been averaging around 22mph in the Ranger and 24mph in the Edge. My 66 Mustang GT, and the lawn equipment gets non ethanol gas.

The million-dollar question "Will it really lower prices at the pump?" As some posted, it's about $0.30 cheaper than E10 now, but what about when demand goes up? IMO, whenever the government gets involved to lower prices, it ends up with higher prices in the long run.

I agree but it kind of sounds like they want to replace the current regular E10 with E15. If it stays an option that's fine, if they make all grades E15 to reduce prices across the board that is what a lot of people don't want. Many people in this country are trying to eliminate as many choices as possible an force you to their preferred product/policy.

Cripple our energy industry to steer us to electric for the environment. So this...
"The Environmental Protection Agency will issue an emergency waiver to allow widespread sale of 15% ethanol blend that is usually prohibited between June 1 and Sept. 15 because of concerns that it adds to smog in high temperatures."

My big Chevy is a flexfuel. The price gap between the regular E10 (high octane does nothing for mpg in it) it loves and the E85 has to be pretty wide to make it worth loading up the tank with corn. The drop in mpg vs cost math doesn't work out most of the time.

Curious to see what an extra 5% does to a nonflex motor in terms of mpg.

But someone is going to bring up the cost of shitty overpriced coffee to defend this move like the ASS threads so, eh. I'll see what happens when it does. Note: I don't drink that crap so I don't care. Good old home brewed Maxwell House original for me.

I do have an E0 station near me but it adds about a dollar per gallon. Yikes.

Calm down and read the EPA mandated label displayed on every pump in the US that dispenses E-15:
2-e15.webp

This includes powesports ICE's: motorcycles, SXS' PWCs etc. There is not, nor has there ever been a ICE motorcycle made to date that can use E-15 w/o internal damage.
