Eric, I’m afraid this is only Part 1 of your spending spree.

You’re probably already thinking about how small that TT looks behind the new F350. In fact, I’ll bet you’ve already gone online to look at larger trailers and Phase 2 is about to begin. ?
The wife and I have already been looking at bigger trailers for about a year now, hence a truck that will handle just about anything we decide on.

Typical travel trailer upsizing is the cart before the horse. You buy the bigger trailer then get a bigger truck than the one you have. These circumstances forced me into the horse before the cart.

But seriously, I hope you enjoy the new truck and eventual new trailer.

The really ironic thing is that I traded in my 1/2 ton for the Ranger because it wouldn’t fit in the garage.
Haha! I traded a '09 F250 Long Bed for my '21 Tremor because we seriously downsized during our move last January and the driveway was too small for my truck. Plus, I didn't need the gooseneck hitch any more.

It is a tourist trap by the dealership they own the gas station and know you will make it that far to trade. That is why they had the truck in stock that you bought.

Sadly replace CP4 with pretty much any common rail diesel, they all have such fantastically high injection pressures and small clearances that any water is pretty much a death sentence.

To the extent that many people over here fit auxiliary filters / water traps in line before the main factory filter. Australian diesel is amongst some of the worst in the world for contamination, partially due to the climate which encourages condensation, and algal growth, and the fact that there are so many small service stations in the outback which means lots of tanker distribution with each transfer risking additional contamination.
I don't don't run an extra filter but I religiously put a water dispersal / injector lube additive in every fill, I also try whenever possible to fill up from well frequented servos where the fuel is more likely to be fresh. I also change my fuel filter religiously at the factory recommended interval. Not a foolproof plan, but at least a plan.
thx mate! now i feel better living in the center of diesel homeland ? even at the most remote mini petrol stations, the diesel stock is replenished at least once a month… but I still have to fill in these additives every now and then because of this disgusting biodiesel blend?

And if you don't change that filter you will be on a walkabout

Absolutely - when I first bought my truck second hand - despite the fact that it had been recently "serviced" in the logbook, I changed all the filters.
And, the air filter was fair, the cabin filter dirty, the oil filter -well a diesel filter looks dirty after 1 days use anyway , but no sparkles at least, the fuel filter was filthy. I've subsequently changed it again now twice, and both times it never looked anything like that bad, so either the previous owner had filled up in some pretty suspect places, or, more likely it had never been changed. Ford's recommended interval for the diesel filter is 40,000 Km and I bought the truck at 68,000 Km so it should have been only halfway into it's second filter.

Yes the worst is either little country stations where they get intermittent deliveries from whichever company is cheapest on the day, and no name discount stations in the suburbs where they do every thing as cheaply as possible, including buying fuel from cheap and nasty sub-distributors and NEVER clean or check their tanks.
At least oil company name brand stations generally look after their gear, and are more likely to come to the party if you do get a load of bad fuel, they trade on their name, the last thing they want is that name plastered all over social media.

Pretty much all of our diesel has ~5% biodiesel (they starting adding it as a lubricity additive after we adopted low sulphur diesel) these days, they don't specifically tell you, if more than that, then they are supposed to put a notice on the pump, as some older diesels (and newer ones) don't take kindly to blends above 5%.
For example one fuel company over here prides it self on being a "green" oil company - as if that's not an oxymoron  and the only fuel you can buy from their stations is ethanol blends in E10, or E85, or diesel in up to 20% Bio.
I ran the 20% bio through one of my previous diesel trucks to clean out the fuel system, wow you should have seen the filter after that! But I wouldn't run it all the time , too hard on any rubber seals in a fuel system not designed for it.

Sadly, I fear that these are the standards that will soon apply in Europe. The standards and control bodies are being ground down for the short-term profit of a few... ? Grandmas with concrete hairstyles
