I bought mine last Saturday at a small dealership in south TN. I could only get them to come $250 off MSRP. They did value my ragged out Focus pretty well. In this market, I was okay with it.

You shouldn't have to 'eat' anything. You've deposited on a vehicle and if you don't buy it, they owe you the deposit back.Well, I may eat my $1k deposit at my current dealer for a $3300 cheaper deal at another dealer.
I'm visiting my dealer on Monday to see if they match the price. If not, I'll cancel, eat my $1k, and still save over $2k for the other deal at a different dealer.
Hope this helps, can't get more specific than this. Walk out the door price that included sales taxRight? I don't know why it's so difficult for people to say what the ACTUAL price was. All this equivocating and obfuscating "I paid x" (don't add in trade in) "I paid Y" (don't add in down payment), "I paid Z" (don't subtract upside down loan rolled into this deal). The price is the price. That's the number that matters. A 30k truck minus a 5k trade, minus a 3k down payment for a financed rate of 22k is.......a 30k truck. You paid 30k. It doesn't matter that 3k of that 30k was upfront. It doesn't matter that 5k of that 30k was in the form of a trade it. It wouldn't matter if you paid half in gold bricks or bitcoin. It's 30k. Not a difficult concept to grasp but seems like many have trouble grasping it.
We all (probably) know people who speak like this and frankly, it's just exhausting trying to fish the truth out of them. Like they have to one up the deal you got so they can "win" or something like that. And then you get into specifics, "wow that's a great deal, was that OTD?" Turns into "well yeah plus 3k tax". Oh ok, not that bad. Hey where did your other beater go? "Oh I traded that in when I got this." Oh so that number you said was that plus tax plus trade in? "Yeah". Oh, ok, so you paid sticker price for it basically. "Yeah". Ok.Don't be that guy.
Right, is this straight enough. I wrote a check for $35.125.33 for the truck in the pic with the window sticker listed. SCab, 4x2, 6ft bed, Lariat, 501A tech pack, spray in bedliner, splash guards, running board, trailer tow package, 18" chrome wheel appearance.Right? I agree, I shouldn't but the deposit is non-refundable I believe. I'm going to the dealer tomorrow morning to see if they will price match this other deal I received. If not, I'll cancel and reorder at this other dealer for the better price. Plus no deposit needed with this other dealer. The savings alone is worth the wait. You shouldn't have to 'eat' anything. You've deposited on a vehicle and if you don't buy it, they owe you the deposit back.
Am I missing something here?
I didn't. Refund is processing. Glad they didn't play hardball and try to keep it. Canceled the ordered fairly easy. You shouldn't have to 'eat' anything. You've deposited on a vehicle and if you don't buy it, they owe you the deposit back.

Yes, exactly. That's exactly how people ought to convey that info. And that seems like a great deal, as well. 33 on a 39, plus tax, with all the shortages and crazy inflation? Seems like a steal. Nice job.Right, is this straight enough
How much of that was tax, around 3k? Seems pretty expensive to me but idk, LA I guess? What was the sticker price?I ended up paying 38k this past week. 2020 Ranger XLT with FX4 package, tow package, and sport appearance package with only 9k miles on it. At first I thought it was slightly overpriced, once I started looking at the pictures I realized it had the RTR package plus the leather RTR seats. the package itself is worth almost 10k without the leather seats. In this market I thought it was worth it, specially considering I found many without the RTR package and higher mileage for a higher price.
forgot to add this was in Los Angeles area.

I am like you in wanting a very direct answer to questions. Drives me nuts to get a load of sing-song and never get to the nut of the issue. We ain't politicians and no need to act like them rats.Yes, exactly. That's exactly how people ought to convey that info.
