Page 320 of the 2019 Owner's manual, version 4, lists the fuel capacity at 18.8 gals. The 2020 manual, version 2, on page 330 also lists the fuel capacity at 18.8 gals.
I would bet the fuel capacity is 18.8 gallons...

Neither. My dumb ass ran my Fx4 to as nearly empty as possible. Made it to the gas station on a prayer and fumes. Tank held 19.9 gallons before the nozzle clicked off.

it matters when you run it to empty// on my 2019 it is listed at 18.9 and seems like that is accurate/ i have never filled it all the way from negative "zero miles to go" but i do a lot of road trips and do the calculations, run it low enough to say yeah definitely well over 18, 18.9 is accurate, you could probably squeeze 19 in there. also i have noted before you can easily go 10 and probably 20 miles after it says "zero miles to empty"/ ive gone past "zero" twice. i think it leaves that .9 out of the equation.

I've put iirc 18.6 or 18.7 gallons in my Ranger when it said I have 11 miles to empty.
