Ah, I must've glazed over that. Admittedly I was more curious to see what the differences were.
That would have be too easy. At least the auto folding mirror module is exactly the same. Lol

I ordered from carid back in February. This is getting ridiculous. They send an email every week with an extended date. I’m about to cancel my order, I do not recommend Dee Zee they take forever.

No one has them, it's a new model and a lot of accessories aren't available yet. Who could have projected they would sell 9K+ Rangers in Q1.

I ordered mine in December and I've gotten two phone calls about delays - I just checked my account and it currently says estimated delivery May 3rd. We shall see.... If Panda gets theirs done before this one ships, I will cancel my order with Carid.

Contacted DeeZee about when they expected their damper to be available. Following is their response. The delivery date just seems to keep getting pushed further and further away every time anyone asks. Also seems that he doesn't know that they already have Hex Steps available for the Ranger.

Thank you for contacting Dee Zee! We are hoping to release our tailgate assist (DZ 43206) and other Dee Zee products for the Ford Ranger by the end of this summer. Please keep checking our website at www.deezee.com. We hope that this answer helps you.

Interesting - I ordered one back in December and a week ago the estimated ship date was May 3 - it recently changed to early June sometime. It has changed like 5 or 6 times now. I wonder when it will finally get released? It is weird they had it listed before anyone else, and at this rate they will be the last to release it. Seems like a pretty simple part - especially when they have done the same for other trucks.

not to sound judgemental....

Why is this now a thing? Tailgate damper is a solution looking for a problem.
especially with such a light tailgate.

I get it - it certainly isn't a "must have" thing - I guess it falls into the "cool feature" thing for me.

Why do people add the tailgate and grille lettering? Or side decals? This is kind of the same for me. I just think it is cool.

because otherwise idiot reviewers will spend 2 minutes being completely shocked that if they yank the handle and jump back the tailgate bangs down
Yeah, it might be that, or it might be that it's actually pretty handy and not just cool to have a tailgate that slowly lowers itself into position. These aren't all work truck anymore. Had a 2017 Tacoma and that was a nice tailgate feature for sure.
