Question, for those who have updated to the latest build via USB. Once finished, did you log back on to Ford and upload the XML flie? Reason I ask is about 4 months ago I updated to the latest build Via USB, install went great no issues. About 2 weeks ago I noticed that the Screen was doing another download, the same version that I already installed, I do have auto updates enabled. Well after one week the thing was still trying and has frozen all user operation on the screen. I did a master reset and the screen just sat black for a day, did a soft reboot with the USB connected this morning on the 40 minute drive in, and its now trying to update. Got to work had to shut the truck off, hopefully it will continue and finish after my 40 min drive back home. I wonder if all this was caused because I did not upload the XML log, so ford thought I had the old rev and pushed the download. Perhaps this confused the unit and put the console in limbo. I do know one thing, once I get this sorted out, auto download is getting turned off as its hokey at best.,
I had the same issue after updating in that the Ford website would not accept the XML file. Someone suggested connecting the truck to my WiFi which I did. Now Ford does recognize my update. YMMV.

Actually, that's a good point.

I did the update via USB as usual, but we couldn't upload the XML back to the Ford site (no one could from what I could tell).

Your post made me go check to see and sure enough I was able to upload the XML this afternoon with no issue.

That doesn't help those who've been having the automatic updates though I suppose, but thanks for reminding me, and for those that couldn't do it before.

I tried to upload the file and it failed, several times. I then went back on the truck and check for updates, and that updated the site.

Soft reset of SYNC:

Might add that the accessory power needs to be on.
I’ve done this but still no success in updating to Sync 3.4.

In My first 5 months of ownership I had many problems with the synch system and the Sirius XM freezing up and not working at all. It must’ve been fixed with a recent update as I do not recall a problem the past month or so. Thankfully.

Yes, the last update fixed it.

It's really odd because mine will work fine but if I shut the truck off to go into a store real quick when I come back out it won't work. If I turn the truck off again and wait a while it'll turn back on. It seems to only impact Sirrius satellite. I've just started doing a soft reboot and that allows the satellite to work again. It's a total pain in the ass that Ford really needs to fix!
Mine does the same thing.
