Ford has updated the TSB for the 10R80. It’s no longer 24-2101 and is now 25-2024.
Here’s a link to read it ( nothing available to copy yet)
https://www.ford.com/support/service-information/

Either put your VIN in or year/model info. It’s the first TSB listed that mentions 10R80.
They’ve developed a extensive testing procedure to check the CDF for leakage. Also the verbiage for replacing the transmission under LTIS is gone

I'd be curious if they would service a transmission that has slight symptoms of this but isnt throwing codes.
Or at least do a diag. on it under this pretense.

If you’re under the 5/60 powertrain warranty or have an ESP then the answer would be yes. Codes aren’t required to proceed with the testing. Shifting complaint is enough. The TSB just requires to have one or the other.

Thanks for clarifying

I have a question. I purchased the extended dipstick from Mikes. Should I wait to install it till after getting transmission checked?

I would wait until after it gets checked/repaired. Not that it should be an issue with the dealer ( you can ask) . It would be better to just let them do their thing and then you can install it. I installed mine before any transmission work was done and it wasn’t an issue. But it was a couple of months before I brought it in to be checked out.

Ok. Thnx. I just didn't want them to try and say my alteration caused the issues with the transmission. Ya know how some folks can be about stuff like that. Thnx again ✌

It looks like the new procedure to determine if the CDF has shifted is a step in the right direction.

I’m so glad I got mine fixed - the new CDF and valve body repairs made it like a new truck.

Now it isnt stuck in 8th going up hills (down to 20-30mph) and drops a gear when necessary, no squealing of tires on shifts, and no slipping where the RPM flies up and then it “catches”.

For those on the fence, get this done before things get worse. It’s only a matter of time.

I might just be paranoid at this point, I dont know if mine really needs it. Seems like the transmission is sluggish at times and does a weird shift here and there... but nothing that seems serious.
Im still under the 5yr/60k,

Mine was never serious. Subtle shift quirks and never any codes. 2022 with 18000 miles and I have a new transmission. If you have any shifting issues even subtle the latest TSB now has a test procedure to confirm issues.
