So what your saying is I need to "wash" my engine bay then go get my free cover...?

I started crocheting one for mine.I'd challenge that and offer that covers are more for the ladies/girly men....making it look less intimidating when they check the oil. if you win at that game, they actually might check the oil when they add washer fluid.
esthetics far outweigh any benefit/loss for noise, heat and contaminants.
I have the XLT Crew regular 4x4, so it didn't come with a skid plate. Would a skid plate have protected my serpentine belt? I had a thread about my Ranger with 1600 miles leaving me sitting on the side of the road for 4 hours.... when it finally got to the Ford dealer, they said there was a small chunk out of the edge of the serpentine belt. They thought it was probably due to a rock hitting it and not rodent damage.I put one on also as soon as I could get it. to me it just looked stupid without it - so now ford is adding it to prevent damage..... I also added the skid plate to the front, if you look the steering motor is right there - very open to damage from random road crap flying up and hitting it, I know its not likely but a $25 part to protect a thousand dollar part seems like a good bet.
over under or cross stitch?I started crocheting one for mine.
No just the RangerSO... Does this affect ALL models with the 2.3 engine. even my Mustang?
I got a cover when I purchased mine as I argued it was "missing" from my engine bay so they took one off a Lariat model. That was before we knew that ONLY lariats came with them.
SSM 49875 - 2021 Ranger - Lariat Trim Level - Engine Appearance Cover DeletionMy 2021 Lariat didn't come with an engine cover but I thought the Lariats came with them. Did they stop including them in 21? That and the lack of bed hooks that cost $70 from the dealer are pissing me off.
All 4x4 models are supposed to come with a skid plate. The non-FX4 is just black and a little smaller.I have the XLT Crew regular 4x4, so it didn't come with a skid plate. Thanks for explaining! All 4x4 models are supposed to come with a skid plate. The non-FX4 is just black and a little smaller.
The FX4 plate is a little wider, but yours still should have been enough. Reality though is that things like that happen. It's just dumb luck. Thanks for explaining!
Excuse my lack of knowledge... LOL so obviously it does not help protect from a rock hitting the serpentine belt!
Just used my points Friday for one...$80.. just so you guys know it's made from a block of foam rubber.. but I swear it made the engine quieter
It did. It absorbs ticking noise eminating from the HPFP.Just used my points Friday for one...$80.. just so you guys know it's made from a block of foam rubber.. but I swear it made the engine quieter

SSM 49924 - 2019-2021 Various Vehicles - 2.0L/2.3L EcoBoost - Light To Moderate Ticking Type Noise At Idle (600-700 RPM)
Some 2019 MKC, 2019-2021 Edge/Nautilus/Escape/Ranger/Explorer, 2020-2021 Corsair, and 2021 Bronco Sport vehicles equipped with 2.0L and 2.3L EcoBoost engines may exhibit a light to moderate ticking type noise at idle (600-700 RPM). The noise is usually more prominent in the area of the high-pressure fuel pump, located on the top of the engine just behind the number 4 ignition coil. This noise is not detrimental to engine function and has no short or long-term effects on engine durability. This is an operating characteristic of these engines and no repairs should be attempted.
