I suspect I will need to bleed the system but I'm getting very close to getting rid of this truck. I've already spent a lot of time and money trying to fix the things wrong with this brand new truck. Bummer because on paper this seems like the perfect truck for me but the drivability sucks...
I absolutely did not like the Hankooks from day one and replaced them after one month of driving the truck. I did a lot of research and ended up going with the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W Tires. Improved the ride and handling considerably. Great in snow/rain and towing. No complaints.
Has anyone who did the forscan brake purge noticed the mushy feeling return? After driving for several months after the purge, my brakes are feeling mushy again.
I worked at a dealership for a couple years in college. I once saw our "master mechanic" drain the oil out of a brand new Firebird, replace the filter, lower the car and drive it out of the shop. I pointed out the oil sitting on the bench and he almost crapped himself. He actually started...
I'm not sure why it always comes back to the damper but I have to share why I love mine. My initial reason for getting a damper is that my neighbor has one on his Tundra and when we played golf he opened my tailgate several times and just let it slam open. This bothered me because the truck...
My first car was a 1980 Chevette handed down to me from my parents. What a horrible piece of garbage. At only 36k miles the timing belt broke, AC stopped working and the carb had to be rebuilt. Vinyl seats were ripping and various interior parts were breaking.
Funny you should ask... I did a road trip to Idaho over the holidays. Lots of long, boring roads with very little traffic. Doing between 90-105 most of the way there. Got pulled over by a sherif in Idaho doing 84 in a 65. He asked if I was in a hurry and I told him no, I just wasn't paying...
For mine, I bolted the top in place and used a floor jack with a wedge of 2x4 to push the shock up into the mounting bracket. Then used a large screwdriver to pry it up enough to insert the bolt.
Personally I would not feel comfortable or safe towing anything longer than 23' with my Ranger and I have towed many campers and boats over the years. I think 25' is pushing it let alone 29'. I would adjust to living in a smaller space or buy an RV to tow another vehicle as others have mentioned.
First thing I did was replace the factory tires with Falken Wildpeaks and I run 34psi. That helped the ride a lot more than I expected. I then replaced the rear shocks with Eibachs. I also put 2 60lbs sand bags in the bed. That combo got rid of 90% of the annoying bounce.
Do the ABS purge...
