Apple CarPLay issues with sync 3.4 and updated OS15

Was wondering if anyone has this same issues as I have with carplay, I have noticed when upgrading to OS15, when you select some apps - like SiriusXM, Amazon music or another podcast app - I get a message on the screen that says "unable to connect" and then selecting try again, it will be just a blank screen.

Any idea what may cause this or a fix for this issue?

I'm pretty sure I responded to you on FB too, but I've been on iOS15 since the first Dev Beta was released. I don't have any issues. Have you tried restarting your phone? Have you updated all the apps to be compatible with iOS15?

I am currently experiencing the following, but not all the time:

Failure to connect
Full connection but no volume
Screen freeze

And every connection I have to Accept the Air Play Info screen and agreement screen

Just gets better and better.

And do I really need to know the volume number?

I read something this morning that said the problem only appears with iPhone 13, the newest phone. There was a report from one user who has a 12 and a new 13, and the iPhone 12 still works correctly with IOS 15.

iPhone 12 mini and IOS 15. Also have the latest Sync update. CarPlay acts wonky sometimes, but no more than it ever has.

IPhone 12 and no issues here. Latest sync update and iOS 15
My iPhone 12 Mini also works correctly after installing IOS 15, but I already had CarPlay working on IOS 14, so I can’t verify what might happen if it was not already connected prior to upgrade.

iPhone XS Max and have had issues connecting things like SiriusXM.
I have to open the app and run it from my phone,in order for it to work…….annoying for sure

Iphone 12 pro here. Same issue with amazon music. Says it can't connect. If I open the app on the phone (which won't open if the phone is connected to the truck) and start playing something, it plays and I can go to next and previous track. Still can't navigate the music in the app in sync 3.4. It is a known issue that lots of people are having. It has been reported that iOS 15.1 beta fixes it. I just updated to 15.0.1 but the problem still exists. Thankfully I didn't update my wife's or daughter's phone because if carplay didn't work for them, it would be the end of the world and my fault. Daughter has a XR and wife an 11, so not sure if it only affects the 12 and up series, but I am not taking a chance on theirs until I get mine updated with a version that works. Also, Amazon updated their app yesterday but it still doesn't work right.

Definitely seems to be an iOS15 issue with the expected fix in 15.1. Here’s some articles about it…

Same, lot of failures to connect. Been finding that a sync reset (hold power and fast forward) and swapping the lightning cable fixes it. No clue why. When it happens again I swap back to the first lightning cable.

I updated to IOS 15.1 and get the failure to connect on Sirius, going to sirius on the phone works but no on screen mirror of the phone. Pandora, all mapping (apple, google, and WAZE) all work fine. So as Pandora works fine I am thinking its a Sirius compatibility issue with IOS and not the other way around. I listen to Pandora the most, and as the mapping all works I am good waiting for the fix, Sirius is mostly for the house & Motorhome.

I did the reset but that didn't work. But.... I took my phone off off the home wi-fi and forced it to connect to the Ranger's hotspot and then Sirius worked, kind of. It would show & play from the 'resents' but not conect to 'Favorites'
