Granted we all have a spare tire, just in case, but what other spares do you normally travel with in your truck?
  • fuses
  • light bulbs (headlight, signal, dome, marker lights)
  • lug nuts
  • wiper blades
  • oil filter
  • tire stem caps
  • keys (wired or magnetically attached to the bottom of the truck)
  • spare wire, wire strippers and connectors
  • hitch pin
Too much? Too little? Anything else?

I carry a recovery kit but no extra parts. However, I always carry my wallet and I make sure to bring along an extra arm and a leg in case I have to buy parts or accessories. ???? ?

Around town = whatever tools Ford included plus a first aid kit, folding shovel, tire pressure gauge, and about a dozen tie-down tools (ratchet straps, bungee cords, rope).
When I travel = add a full set of sockets/wrenches/screwdrivers, and electrical service tools (cutters/crimpers, strippers, multi-meter). I throw in a 25ft roll of electrical wire and electrical tape. Duct tape and bailing/tie wire too.

No real spare parts for the truck though.
The RV carries a compliment of emergency “bandaid” parts that will prevent a weekend from being spoiled.

Hi Gregory,

When the Ranger is in tow behind the RV, I have multiple tool sets in the coach with sockets in ½ drive up to 2½". Metric and Imperial sockets, wrenches etc. Wire, Duct tape, solder, tons of screws and bolts in bins...Batteries for measuring equipment...DVM for example. Tree saw...Wood working equipment including a router and bits....ociliating saw etc. Breakdown triangles...Half a dozen hammers (some call Ford wrenches)...Several tarps. Bunge cords in all sizes 12 and 14 gauge romex wire.

In the Ranger by itself, Tie down straps...half a dozen. Tailgate extension brackets, Duct tape, Socket set of Imperial and Metric sockets..Breaker Bar and Âľ" socket for the lugnuts. hacksaw, tow strap, 50 ft of yellow polyrope. Handy wipes. USB cords, three or 4 flashlights and batteries. Pen and Paper. roll of velcro. A bit more that I cannot remember at this time....

I told my wife, Margie, that I do not want to be stranded on the side of the road waiting for AAA or such... I want to fix it and get back on the road.

best.
Phil
