I agree with @Stevedbvik1 that a third motor running the synthetic blend would be more informative and based in a real world application. That said, I guess we have to deduce that the results would be somewhere between the two but how close to one end or the other is the question. My wild @$$...
Same here. I deal with mostly Linux systems which a unaffected but you really never realize how many Windows machines they interface with until there is an outage.
I think I am fast approaching your predicament. I'm 62 years old too.
I work for a joint venture (JV) inside of a larger company, which just got bought by another company. Our JV made over $260 million in revenue last year. We are a 275 person JV. We cleared approximately $500k per employee...
The 2.3L Ecoboost is rock solid. The 2.7L, not so much. Just look at the TSB and recall notices for the 2.7L vs. the 2.3L. Why would anyone pay extra for more problems?
I've never had any luck with Jump Starters / Jump Boxes in the past. Something always went wrong.
I invested in a set of 30-foot heavy duty jump cables and never looked back. At least I know they won't go dead or wear out on me like a jump box can.
If 30 feet is not enough for you, you can...
This thread makes me thankful that I have a hard roll up tonneau cover and the factory drop in bed liner. Too much effort for the average thief to get those two things out of the way to even begin working on removing those screws to release the taillights.
Not throwing shade on anyone but maybe it's the driver? If @Msfitoy has 112K and the brakes are still good what could be the difference? Maybe it is breaking habits?
Yes, off-road dust, dirt and grime can accelerate brake wear but unless you are driving down unpaved roads most of the time, I...
FordTechMakuLoco had a similar issue he posted on YouTube () where he had a Platinum F-150 that had a CanBus issue with a module that had water intrusion and he had to replace the taillights and the wiring harness to the tune of $5600 to the customer.
Symptoms were the radio started going...
Something else complicated to break(on or off road). Plus the added weight reduces payload.
I'll pass.
A quick disconnect exhaust tip would be better. Less to break and lighter.
From the guy whose parent company is "Fix It Again Tony!"
Let he who is without recalls cast the first lug nut.
Jeep is far from the paragon of quality. The only thing they have going for them is the name.
This will probably be the first vehicle that I will consistently take to the dealer for oil changes.
I am generally a "Do it Yourself" guy. I even have the Ford OEM filters and oil just in case I am in a pinch and need to do it myself.
My reasoning for taking this vehicle to the dealer are...
I was discussing this topic with another truck owner and he had a great suggestion: a N52 magnet. They are great for temporarily tacking down something or when you are working on your truck away from your garage to keep all the screws, nuts and bolts from rolling away.
Granted we all have a spare tire, just in case, but what other spares do you normally travel with in your truck?
fuses
light bulbs (headlight, signal, dome, marker lights)
lug nuts
wiper blades
oil filter
tire stem caps
keys (wired or magnetically attached to the bottom of the truck)
spare...
I am hoping that @chrshale will share with us what his dealer tech friends have been doing to find the said gremlin in his truck. Are they merely swapping out modules with a known working Ranger? Have they verified all the grounds are truly solidly anchored? Did they isolate and test the starter...
Long Island, NY seems to be dominant RAM country with F-150s holding a distant second.
Other than my own truck, I have only seen one other fifth generation Ranger in the wild (at a Lowe's parking lot) in the last two months. Looking for a Ranger around here is much akin to going on a Snipe hunt.
