Hey everyone
I wanted to build a long travel truck over the course of a few years. (piece by piece) I found this would be better for my situation instead of just doing it all at one time. I figure it would be better to do this now while the truck is still new rather than build a long travel down the line when the truck already has a lot of miles. The buy once, cry once applies here. I would rather jump straight to a long travel than build a mid-travel and decide I want more suspension later. I do have a spare vehicle that I can drive.
I have been doing my homework and learning as much as I can. Talking to shops and getting info.
I am trying to develop a buy list. My truck is a 2020 Ranger FX2 so it has the rear locker and I would not need to worry about CV joints
Front:
1. King 2.5 extended coil overs RR
2. APG Long travel system (UCA, LCA, extended tie rods)
3. Extended brake lines
Would I need bump stops or limiting straps or anything else for the front? (Assuming I have the tires and fiberglass fenders)
Rear: (I am still a little confused with the rear)
1. Fox 2.0 rears or King 2.0 or 2.5 piggyback shock
2. Deaver leafs
3. Bump stops or limiting straps
For this set up would I need a rear bed cage?
I am open to suggestions, advice, and tips
Thank you!
