The truck does look pretty nice, but not sure I understand this statement. The truck lowering community has to be the absolutely smallest niche in the entire market. lol
Exactly! Too my eyes it looks awesome, too others it may not, that's the point! If we all looked like mini Tonka trucks with big tires and a lift the world wouldn't be near as interesting.
And the community for lowering is as diverse as the community for Overlanding.
It's nice to see you back over here. You must have a secret fetish for sport trucks or you wouldn't be following this thread.
I think what he's saying is that if you go by the imagery on the Ford website and marketing material, you might find the height and rake to be a surprise when later seeing it in person. Which is what happened to me to be honest. If I had shown up at the dealer and saw a Ranger with the Belltech kit next to another Ranger without it, I would have said that the one without was the modified one.

.....but not sure I understand this statement.

Let me break it down and explain.

STUNNING! Meaning it's beautiful; super cool; instant attention grabber.
ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! Meaning the stance and overall appearance couldn't get any better.
This is EXACTLY the way Ford should have offered them. Meaning Ford really missed the boat by not offering a Ranger in this configuration. For the customer who doesn't have a need to go off
road, this would be a top seller.
SIGN ME UP! Meaning, I want one JUST like it!
Thanks Kevin! Meaning I appreciate Kevin sharing his experience with his truck. I guess that one was self explanatory!

Of course Jack, you are probably correct about one thing; the truck lowering community has to be the absolutely smallest niche in the entire market. That's what makes them unique!

All good Jack. Just having a little fun.
Happy trucking! :like:

That is EXACTLY what I was trying to say! I was sold on the images that Ford posted only to be disappointed by reality.
Thanks Ryan for reading my mind! :like:

When I first saw a Ranger at the dealership I thought "wow, it kinda looks like a lanky puppy". I wasn't sure if I was going to buy running boards before I showed up, but I knew I would have to by the time I left. Running boards and mud guards do help with the lankiness. Bigger wheels and fender flares would help as well, but I'd rather the truck just be a bit lower with the wheels closer to centered within the wheel wells.

Greatly improved provided that you like less back end bounce, less body lean, better steering input and a more reactive driving and a smoother riding experience!

Any chance one of you brave pioneers is about to load 300-500 pounds into the bed to see what the sag looks like? Really interested, but I do haul dirt bikes fairly frequently and don't want to go nose high...

I might be doing that in the next few days and will post pics when I do unless someone else does that beforehand

Aside from cost that's my concern as well. Was thinking that sumo springs would go well with this mod, though

Hello All,...

have a question after reading a few posts here ... on a 21' Tremor was looking to level the front end, ... only to find out the Tremor already has a higher stance over an FX4 by 1" and adding a 2" level kit is not an option since they feel it would take the ball joints to its limit ... if anyone has an input it would be greatly appreciated ...
So,.. l considered just lowering the rear 2" with either drop shackles or lowering blocks ... no one at this time makes drop shackles for the 5th Gen Rangers ... so looking at lowering blocks ... l just read here about pinion angle ... do you think lowering the rear by 2"s would take the pinion angle to a point of issue or would it be fine??

thx in advance for all reply's ...

Something that must be considered in pinion angle is how much change in angle can be made without having to make changes to how and where the carrier bearing mounts. I'll give you an unscientific example. If you were to change the pinion angle by 5-10 degrees without changing the mounting height of the carrier bearing, you would put a considerable more amount of stress on the components involved with continuous driving. The bearings and U-joints are designed to move at various angles etc but not for extended periods at high RPM levels when they are pushed beyond their intended use. Having already installed the Belltech lowering kit, I can tell you that their engineers took the average of the 4 inch, 5 and six inch amount of lowering that the kit provides for and created a standoff spacer that lowers the carrier bearing. Considering that you are looking to lower your rear 2 inches, my guess would be that half of the amount that they figured would be sufficient. I can or one of the other members here can measure the amount that the carrier bearing is moved with the Belltech pieces and give you an idea of what you are looking for. Additionally you can look at several Ranger aftermarket suppliers and possibly find a few shackles that lower the rear 1-2 inches. It seems that I did see these listed.
