Hi Folks,

I had a frustrating experience with checking the oil after an oil change. I could not get an accurate reading. I had to resort to pulling the dip stick wiping clean and reinserting and waiting a day before pulling it out to read. I was half way up the hashmarks. Perfect. I am baffled why the Ranger is so hard to get an accurate reading....

I'm not sure if that was sarcasm lol but i'll respond as if it wasn't. I checked the oil level and it was at an acceptable range

Agree with Phil about residual oil on Ranger dipstick making a warm reading more difficult. Cure is to check oil in morning before firing up, that lets everything (including dipstick) drain to the sump overnight. In the morning you will get a clean reading.
Suggestion to OP: After next full oil change take a reading (overnight cold) and mark dipstick at the oil level observed. Now you have a true reference of where "full" actually falls on the stick.

This is happening before oil change due . Also there won't be a problem in the short term. In the long run it will cause seals to break down premature causing $$$ in repair bills .

Gasoline, also spelled gasolene, also called gas or petrol, mixture of volatile, flammable liquid hydrocarbons derived from petroleum and used as fuel for internal-combustion engines. It is also used as a solvent for oils and fats. That means it breaks down oils and fats . This makes oil less effective. So stop being a hole . Enjoy your repair bills after warranty runs out .
