I have seen the fuel fuel in oil thread on and off and really haven’t worried or had the chance to check my Ranger. I finally smelled the oil from my dipstick and it smelled very strong of gas, it also is overfull on the dipstick.

I have owned my 2019 Ranger for a little over a year, I bought it used (one owner) with 5,000 miles on it.

it now has 22,000, I have no idea how long this has been going on with my truck. I have always taken it to Ford for oil changes since I’ve owned it.

I have read 50 pages of this post then skipped ahead, it seems like There is no solid answer why it does this and Ford is not issuing anything yet.

I am going to take my truck to my dealer ASAP, what would you guys advise me to tell them what I want done?

Here is a picture of my dipstick after the Ranger sat all night.

Crap, I forgot the second hole is Max full.

I checked it 4 times just to be sure, wiping the dipstick every time and it came up once with it past the twist but all others were pretty much like pictured.

It did however smell like straight gasoline and not much like oil.

Don't want to panic you but mine at that level according to Blackstone was 5.8% with 2942 miles on the oil. I would make the dealer aware of it!

Mine often gets near or slightly above that top hole. A longer road trip brings it back down.

I definitely will, I want to start documenting it with the dealer and I am going try and get an oil analysis done.
Make sure the dealer gives you paperwork on the visit. Some have had trouble getting the documentation!

I do not think that is too bad. I would not panic yet. I have the problem as worse as anyone I have seen on the forums, so I would be happy with that. One of my coworkers also has a 2019 Ranger, his oil level rises up to where yours is at and doesn't seem to move past that. I think he is at ~15,000 miles on his truck and the oil level seems to stay pretty consistently around the "max" level hole.
For reference, on my truck, it would hit that level in a couple hundred miles. After the last "fix" attempt, it is even worse, it is already to the twist in less than 300 miles. I would recommend monitoring it, and if it rises further, open a case with Ford Customer care and schedule an appointment with the dealer.

Holy Moly, I didn't know about this issue (I am pretty recent to these forums), so of course, I just went and checked my dipstick. It smells of fuel, but not too bad .... but the oil level was at the top circle (cold!), like just about everyone else here who seems to have this issue! My '21 Tremor is four weeks old, with about 1,600 miles. It runs beautifully and gets about 22 mpg (obviously much better than the 19 advertised), so I'm not going to worry about it unless there is something to worry about. I will check the level weekly and put full synthetic in it at 5k and go from there. I had a 2018 highly modded Mustang GT that ran absolutely perfectly despite having both the BBQ tick when cold and the 2K rattle at all times, but I drove the snot out of it and had nary a problem. But thanks all for the info here - I'll keep an eye on it for sure!

Seems like a pretty reasonable approach. Just keep an eye on it. Mine got to the twist in the dipstick before 1000 miles so I think there are varying degrees of the issue.

I finally have a dealer appointment tomorrow and I am sending an oil sample out for analysis. At this point my level is was getting higher and higher at such a fast pace I stopped driving the truck a week ago as it’s well past the full mark on the dipstick. I’m kinda disgusted with the whole thing at this point. Brand new truck and I don’t even feel comfortable driving it. When I bought the truck the oil level was within normal range.

Have your owners manual out (over filled crankcase engine damage) incase they give you the all things are normal routine. Good luck

Sorry if this has already been asked on here (I haven't read through the entire thread yet!) - but does anyone know if some of the more popular and well-regarded tuners for our application (e.g., Ford Performance, Livernois, 5-Star, etc.) have been able to address full delivery issues via their tune? Is there anyone on here with aftermarket tunes having the same issues with fuel in the oil? Seems I read a year or so ago than Honda was able to address oil dilution issues with the Civic through software tuning. Just curious ...
