Free Sync 3 Navigation Map Updates (NA 1 18)

I updated to 3.4 and it shows I'm on maps 118. Went to Ford's web site, put in my VIN/ESN and Ford wants to sell me a $40 USB for 119. C'mon, man!

If the site is only offering the USB, then it thinks you already downloaded the latest update which is 119. If you installed 119 on 3.3, there was a bug that prevented Sync from displaying the updated version number. When you updated to 3.4, the wrong map version was still displayed. To fix that, you will need to reinstall the maps.

When you originally downloaded 119 (assuming you did), you should have received an email order confirmation. That email has a link in it that allows to you re-download for free.

I installed NA 1 19 today, and it correctly shows the version in Sync 3.4.20282

This monster took over 2 hours to install though. It better be good lol

Never got an email from no-reply@alom. Ford says the file is large for sure and that's why they'll only mail a USB.

I guess that's what makes workarounds like what is on Cyanlabs so attractive.

FYI I got the map update free from Cyan. (cyan.net). Ford has enough of my money.

Whoever told you it’s only a purchased USB was wrong. You should have a download option or hook it up to Wi-Fi and it should pull down the new map data that way, though that’ll take longer.

Yeah, that one is probably on ALOM. I wish they didn't do that.

I followed the instructions to a tee and was unable to get the latest map upgrades to download in my Sync. I even took it to the dealer. They only had 1 guy that knows any electronics issues and he couldn’t get it to work either. ??‍

Nope. No options for WiFi.
