When you put the Map USB back in the 'Updating System Software' message will appear so just leave that run to completion. So firmware doesn't need to be touched, just the map updates?
OK, this time it took an hour or so, 3 reboots later, all ok except had to do a master reset. The voice command flashed and ignored me. Had that happen in the Ranger too and also had to do a master reset. Now for sure, all is well. Thanks guys. What sucked was the fact that the system was not smart enough to just install the files needed. Wouldn't taken an hour if it could do that. No worry. Hopefully good for awhile...Correct. My OBD Link for FORscan shows up today. So do I actually need to change the three items in climate, or just climate domain? You're not the only one who got fooled by the on screen messages during the map update. You basically have to leave the USB stick in until a message appears that says changes take effect after an ignition cycle (or some such verbiage). That message will not go away until it's dismissed and the sync system does not automatically reboot itself. Only then is it safe to remove the USB drive.

Thanks!Just climate domain.
Just Climate Domain in the APIM Module and not the APIM (As Built)? Here is another confirmation that enabling the "Climate Domain" in the APIM Module brings the climate screen back to the display.
Also, I do not notice any difference in the quality of the on screen image from my back up camera. Everything else seems to work as before the update.
Thank you to UofMEngineer and the other members with some great input.
It's definitely affecting non-nav vehicles as well. Are all the problems happening with 3.4 dealing with systems with nav or is it also for those without nav? I don't have the nav system and I'm really hesitant to download and install the updated version.
TIA

Assuming some fix is put into the core software, it'd just follow the normal process. OTA is usually released after USB as it needs to hit X number of test cars before it's switched on. As far as when any fix would make it into the software totally depends on the usual items, like schedule, program sign offs, etc. Short term, if they've supplied dealers with a fix that may be the fastest route.UofMEngineer... assuming that the fix for climate control and anything else that ails the current 3.4 update, in your opinion, how difficult would it be for Ford to correct the issues via WiFi?
Check earlier in the thread for the link to the motorcraft as built site.
