Just placed my order this week through Military Auto Source and using X-plan pricing:

2020 Lariat
501a
FX4
Sport package
Trailer tow package
Spray in bedliner

MSRP $45,355.00
OTD $41,078.51
TTL ~$4k

Putting $10k down and may pay cash for TTL. I'll see what Ford Credit does on the rate but 2.19% through the credit union is the other option.

A bonus of using MAS (if it's an option for you) is that they will apply any new rebates that come out before you take delivery. So hopefully we'll see Ford throw some more discounts in August and September.

But if not, I got $4k+ off MSRP. Was shooting for < $40k but I think the inventory issue is really evident in the pricing.

Joe, what's up with the WA resident discounts? I was considering doing the fly and buy thing because there are many trucks listed in WA for much lower than the rest of the nation. But the ad states price is only good for WA residents only.
Here is an example: https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for...ode1=FORD&modelCode1=RANGER&clickType=listing

I didn't read through all of this thread. That Said, I didn't see the most of the important attributes in dealing with dealers.

Trades: If you bite the bullet, and pay someone who knows how to detail a vehicle, do it! Pay to have the underside, and under the hood done too. Don't forget cleaning the carpet if equipped.

Overall look. Take time to touch up the nicks and chips. If you've had radios installed (commercial or amateur), remove the antennas, and install caps over them. These can be either rubber or NMO caps. Don't go overboard, and reblack the tires, as that is a dead giveaway to pre-prep. And for God's sake, make sure it isn't brightly polished, as this is another gross giveaway.

Negotiation. Never tell a dealer you're paying cash. Their commission often relies on convincing the buyer to finance, or worse, lease the vehicle. And NEVER do a lease, unless you can write off the expense as a business. If you're John Q. Public, leasing is the worse, and most expensive, way to buy a vehicle!

Don't take your spouse, unless you're a woman! This speaks for itself!

There are a Buch more, but these will help.

I honestly am not sure if there's anything different in WA vs other states, I live in Oregon and we've had the same types of discounts advertised... it seems like there are many cash incentives that disappear if you finance with Ford at 0%... they advertise lowest price with every available discount, many of which you wouldn't quality for.
With that being said, even their "dealer discount" is $5K, seems like a good deal!

Joe, do you mind sharing what you paid for the warranty and maintenance package? Trying to locate a good deal on this myself.

It was included in the purchase price, I'm not sure what the cost breakdown was there... the dealership I purchased from gives full powertrain warranty for every new vehicle they sell! Ideally I wont have an issue but if I do, I'm hoping they don't give me a hard time redeeming it.

Just traded my 2018 Tacoma TRD off road for this guy:

window-sticker-cleaned.webp

$45,660 starting price.
less $3008 dealer discount
less $1000 Ford rebate
add $799 dealer "proc/doc fees"
add $638 taxes

My local Ford dealer gave me $35,000 in trade for my Tacoma.. which Toyota swore up and down wasn't worth a penny over $32,000 in trade. Toyota is probably right because I bought it new for $35,500 two years ago. So looks like I knocked off about $7k off the cost of the Ranger. It had 25.1 miles on it when I took it for a test drive.

I could have saved another $1000 if I had financed it (and at 0%!) but that didn't meet my immediate needs. I paid cash.

All in all, I'm happy with the deal.

Great - looks like about $3-4k off from dealer is typical (plus local rebates). Hopefully the rebates in November are close to what they did last year.

Enjoy your truck!
