I do not have heated seats either. I wonder if it's the higher-level trim and/or specific climate options that are triggering this.

I did sent in an "other" report for climate in the diags as I was going through things checking for any setting I may have missed.

I can try the update again and see if it does anything any different, but I wouldn't suspect it would?

I have noticed that since the update, sync takes *noticeably* longer to start up now when it first boots.

I don't recall ever seeing climate on mine, but I only saw one reboot.
I’ll see if I can find it when I get a chance and take a look.

I had an issue with Android Auto. It would connect, recognize the phone, then immediately disconnect.
There are connection issues with the latest Android Auto release (not a sync issue)

Yeah, as I said further in that post, I just needed to clear the connection from android auto on the phone and tell it to setup when connecting to a new vehicle and all went well.

With this update are all you getting is just updated maps?

Maybe a dumb question but why go through all this trouble when you can just use your phone until Ford fixes this mess? I'm not touching this as I'm stressed out just reading all your posts. lol
This update doesn't touch the maps, they're a separate update.

This updates the core OS of the Sync system.

On mine, it appears to be more responsive and I think it has a cleaner appearance.

My update went without too much drama.

As far as the maps, I never use the built-in Nav either.

I usually use Waze but I will give Apple Maps a try now that I've switched back to iPhone.

Thanks! Mine has a slight lag at times and some voice commands will cut out once in a while but not enough to go through this. You're lucky yours installed without any issues but knowing my luck I'll have them.

Anyone that had climate but lost it, can you try to set the temperature via voice? Curious if it’s the entire domain that is now disabled (it’ll just respond to try again) or if it’s only the UI piece that’s now disabled.

I posted earlier that I don't have climate control either. But unlike several posts that I've seen, I do have heated seats - Lariat trim. But on a side note, my climate controls in the previous version of Sync wouldn't allow me to control them there. I had to resort to the manual controls under the Sync screen. The dealer said they couldn't find anything that said they were supposed to be on the Sync Climate Control screen.

And I'm with you about it takes longer to start up.

Once you get your Forscan up and your account activated, Make sure you backup all your as-built modules, as is mentioned multiple places in this forum. Then, go into the APIM as-built and edit
7D0-04-01 xxxx-xx0x-xxxx
Mine was an 8 in that position and changing to 0 brought my climate screen back. Don't worry about the last two places in the 3rd quartet. They are a checksum and will update automatically.
FYI i got my climate controls back using this, all is well again and as always before you go poking around with AS-BUILTS in forscan back it up

Okay, I used the help.ford.com/update-sync/usb/ and it went without a hitch. It said "your SYNC system will be updated to SYNC3 v3.4.43". After the update it shows 3.4.20136, climate controls and everything are there and working. I don't have nav on my XLT.

I just tried the update again, just to make sure there wasn't anything weird that was probably going on. It updated in about 5 minutes and then said it was restarting. I didn't get to remove my USB before it came back up again and it went into "Updating System Software..." again. Still only took about 5 minutes and got the same message. I pulled the plug and shut off the truck, opened the door, waited about 2 minutes and started up again. It still takes a long amount of time to boot, but I still don't have climate controls.

Voice commands work, I can change the temperature just fine, though that seems to be the only climate command available.

Yeah, it's odd then, there doesn't necessarily seem to be a single similarity we have found yet.

Climate is definitely missing and startup does take longer.

If your looking for the Forscan code to get your climate screen back on your SYNC screen use this.

APIM 7D0-04-01 xxxx - xx0x - xxxx

This is the one that brought the climate screen back for me. The one in the prevision post is for showing the climate info on the Lariat dash display. You can't change anything from it.

This was the exact behavior i experienced as well 5 minute reboots i used the fix i posted in post # 500 to get my climate back. After 2 master resets i was able to get my Ford Pass working again and my SIRIUS subscription updated after about 3 minutes being on channel 1 . Everything is working as it should and its fairly responsive. I started this at 4:30 so 3 hours later ..... lol

Ah!
I gave it a try when I was out running errands.
I have an iPhone 11 Pro Max, and used the voice memo app to test

When I got home playback on the phone was pretty quiet!
What it sounded like to me was that it wasn't even using the truck mic, but instead using the iPhone mic sitting on the seat next to me.
I might test that theory later too. Which would make it an iOS/Carplay issue and not necessarily a SYNC problem.
I thought the same but if you get right up on the cars mic it gets louder and if you get next to the phone it gets even quieter.
