I've been using this for about 6 months now and have loved it, but the original printing material doesn't work too well in heat. We had 3 days of 100+ degree heat (2 days over 110), and mine got pretty warped unfortunately:

Wow, that certainly qualifies for a free replacement. The early days PLA brackets seem to be fine up to 100F but anything above that needs something stronger, like ABS. I pm'ed you and hope you will like the new textured bracket.

I hope you will get a break soon, those temperatures on the east cost are insane.

Yep, I'm sure I will love the new bracket. I appreciate it.

It has cooled down here finally. It went from like 110 to 70 in about 3 hours when the heat was blowing out. That was really, really weird. I'm glad it is gone! It is now "only" in the 90's, which is still really warm for us here. We'd normally be in the 70's during the day and the 50's at night in June.

Would it be possible to have a USB C or A port on one of the sides to still have a pluggable option??

On what sides? The 12V outlets? If so then yes, you can route the USB cable from under the bracket in the back (front of center console) and then somehow up. Won't be pretty but it will work.

I think he's asking if your plate could potentially house a USB port itself. Maybe via an extension like this:

(Or similar with USB-C instead of A)

Oh, now I get it. There is only about 10mm space between the wings and the bottom of the wireless charger and my concern would be that it will become too fragile in that spot. If the USB-A or USB-C is only used for charging then something like this plugged in to one of the 12V outlets would be the better option.

Thank you both! Yea, I was asking about an extension port in your 3D print but that makes sense regarding the space and support issues. Fantastic design though; if I ever get my Ranger I'll be placing an order!

Received my tray and charger today. Thank Dirk this is awesome and looks great. Highly recommend to those on the fence.

Couldn't agree more. I had the "version 1" model and it was great - until we got those 3 days of incredibly hot weather and it warped. Dirk sent me a new ABS one at no charge. And best of all, the newer version is an improvement on the one I had. I was surprised because I thought the one I had was perfect but this one is even better.

HIGHLY recommended for anyone wanting wireless charging in their Ranger.

Unethical life hack - https://carlinkitcarplay.com/

You can get the carlinkit from the manufacturer, and they have a coupon roulette (click the present on the left). I've heard you can keep using emails (for instance - [email protected]) until you get the 20% off.

I just ordered my second one (works fantastic in my wife's ioniq). Will be looking at this wireless charging plate also, although leaning towards taking apart a wireless charger to get the coils as close to the top as possible.

I got one of the original wireless brackets and mine started to warp a bit when the temperature was really hot. It still works just fine so I ma good with it.
