Will you be upgrading to a 6G? Why or why not?

The plan is to replace the 2021 in 2026. Something Lariat +. Could be a Tremor if available, would like for it to a Raptor. The last kid will still be in university at that point, so I may not go totally crazy.

Pros:
All the tech - I like 98% of it. Large centre screen, 360 cameras, integrated TBC, etc.
Some convenience stuff - fold flat seat back, 48” between wheel wells, better storage for the passenger, etc

Cons:
Have they found a better position for the window switches?
Oh, that payment!

I am not going to trade in a 3 year old truck (with 13500 miles!) on a new one unless there was something that was MUCH better. The 6G isn't much better, much less MUCH better, so it would have been off the table anyway. The fact that there is no Super Cab or regular cab put the nail in the coffin really, really deep.

I posted a year ago when I thought there would be a scab. No scab, no sale for me.

I like new tech, so that's in the Pro column for me. No scab and no PHEV, Cons.

I've posted recently about a possible switch to the Mav when I no longer need a bigger truck, but the Mav isn't 4x4, big Con. And the new Mav won't have an FX4 on the lariat. No sale. I'll keep my Ranger until the Tranny falls onto the pavement.

Now at 4 years old and 22,000 miles, I still have no interest in a "truck" with a 5' bed.

If I didn't want a truck I would buy an SUV. More comfort, better gas mileage, lower price.

I just hope this transmission holds up a few more years until I get put in a nursing home.

Same boat as you. 0% interest. 18K I still love what I got. Paid off in May. Cost has gone up for little changes and the interest sux. I will drive it until the wheels fall off. Zero problems to date. (fingers crossed)

Nope. I drive‘m ‘till they die. Still got my ‘98 Chevy 2500, and still got my new car. It’s a 2016 Corolla. I expect a lot more years out of both of them. The Ranger is practically brand new at ‘21 and 36,000 miles.

I drove a 1984 corolla sport (they stopped making them) for 275K miles. No engine work, and 1 clutch if I recall. Can't remember how long I had it, but it was a long time, close to 30 years.

I dunno about you guys, but I'm a civil servant. This is one & done for me. I don't think I can afford to do this all over again. (Money or strength)

I won't mainly because I just bought a 24 Frontier pro4x but also I want to modify my 19 to look like the 24 inside and out.

Got a RR. Boy my monthly and cost of ownership is expensive. My 2019 Lariat was fully paid off in 2 years. Got to sell some stocks. Old truck was fun but this is just more fun. You don't have to upgrade. The 5G is perfectly fine. Part of my upgrade reasoning was the worry of my 10R80 giving up and wanted to get some good value out of G5.

As much fun as a Raptor would be I’m keeping this one till it’s no longer feasible to repair it. Just like my last truck a Dakota. My next truck will probably be a 2500. That will just be for towing a larger boat especially on long trips. Ranger will still be the daily driver!

I prefer the styling of the 5G. It does what I need, looks great, rides great, hauls great, and
even off roads quite nicely. Sure there are a few things that aren't perfect, but every car or truck I've ever owned had "something"....but you get used to it and move on.
Mine's paid for and the few mods I wanted are done and reasonable for keeping her for the long haul.
6G ...no for me....at least not anytime soon.
