So this time I was generous with the lubricant and the rub squeaky noise is gone.

Hey Benny hold off for now - I've been told that the issue is probably the hinge and load with more lubricant first before replacing the damper - since the damper is actually doing its job.

Yes Ford should cover it but a new Lariat Ranger is like 40k-50K at least.

No rush and had everything I needed: Motorcraft Full Synth 5W30 and an Motorcraft FL-910-S filter.
