1969 Corvette Coupe, L46 350/350HP, 4.11, 4-speed manual, Hooker chrome headers w/side tubes.

Bought used from an elderly lady in 1972 for $2500. Low mileage, great condition, and garaged.

Early 70's gasoline price wars were on - $0.19/gal for premium. Great time to own a gas guzzler and not worry about the price.

Loved the T-tops. Wish I still had this car today . . . but wouldn't trade my Ranger SCab for it !!

Don't have a pic handy, but similar to this . . .

Mine was a '72 Maverick Grabber. It had a 302 w/automatic trans, two little "scoops" on the hood and the smaller chrome bumpers before the big ugly bumpers a year or so later. That thing had some get up and go, but was terrible in the snow. I had to load the sh*t out of the trunk with my ice hockey goalie equipment and a cast iron sink that was strangely always laying out back behind the garage when I was still living at home to help get traction.

Learned to drive and took my drivers exam in my dad's 58 Ford. Bought my first in 1964, a new 64 Falcon Sprint. Wanted a Mustang, but they were spoken for and pre-ordered for months. The Sprint was basically the same thing. Sold it in 67 when I went into the Navy.

The first car I ever bought with my own money and drove was a 1973 Ford F100 XLT Ranger. It had a beast 390 engine and was painted primer black by the previous owner. I learned a ton about working on cars with this guy but had to sell it when I needed something bigger inside for the family. Wish I still had it, but this is the glove box badge that is all I still have from it.

1998 Ranger XLT Supercab, hunter green in color. It was a great truck until a divorce came along. It wouldn't have been impossible but it would have been difficult to haul around my two kindergarten/preschool aged kids so I moved on to a 2008 Crown Vic LX with a P-71 police package.

I'm fly. I'm pilot.
Please don't bury me for the loser flag front plate, but this was my 2000 F350 XL with the woefully weak 7.3 PowerStroke. Seriously, that thing was slow. I had a buddy with a 6.0 who was towing a 20 foot boat that was faster than me, and I wasn't towing anything. And apparently this engine dropped a cylinder after I sold it around 150,000 miles so the longevity wasn't there, either.

Blue interior, bench seats, and a tape deck. Mmmmmm so quality.
