I kid you not, this literally happened to me on the way home from work today which spawned this thread.
I was coming back from a camping trip fully loaded with my wife and daughter in the truck and some loser wanted to race. Really?

Get challenged also in my car. In bumper to bumper traffic. Like, where you gonna go? Maybe it’s just a common affliction.

Oh yeah just remembered couple weeks ago some dude wants to race me - he’s in an Acura TL. I’m in my wife’s Volvo which BTW has over 400 hp and almost 500 ft-lb of torque (it’s electric). I just laughed. Buddy that high flow air filter isn’t gonna be enough…

Driving around here is such a joy.

It's not just the mid sized trucks either. I had a Durrango R/T 5.7 try to run me off a light the other day. Had him till 70 then he made a whole bunch of noise and pulled away real fast. At the next light he told me he had to actually use his nitrous.. WTF?

I bought a Ford, I don't care about the others, if I would have bought a taco I would not are about the others. I bought what I thought was good for me.
I never have people do weird shit to me or maybe I'm just oblivious to it.

We might be the same with taco owners truth be told.
Thats ok. We have awesome trucks.

Never looked at a chevy. Well, i did. I drove by the chevy dealer and said, oh look. Chevy. Moved right along.

My question is...........
Do ridgeline owners ask truck owners to borrow their truck??

I just love getting them behind me. Then I’ll go under the speed limit to piss them off. Like hey. I’m old. Then they get beside me at the next light and I’ll leave them again

do you think you know how mad people get about this? multiply that by 10 and that still might not be enough. I have 1 on the back window too for when the camper is off.... no doubts where I stand

To be a Tacoma owner and every time you are driving it, having this overwhelming sense that it’s your obligation to show everyone up, particularly those that drive a Ranger. It’s almost as if they are pissed that they decided to buy a Tacoma and now have to somehow try and prove their superiority. Is it just me or have you all noticed this ? I let my truck speak for itself, with no input from me whatsoever.
If I had a Taco I'd paint big red meatballs on the doors just to troll old guys.

This. Around here i probably see 100 Tacoma's for every Ranger, and have yet had any one of them try to "race me". Who runs around trying to prove their pickup truck is faster than someone else's? Weird.

I've had a couple of them Do weird antics like speed up to pass me and brake check me, or random middle fingers.

Like wtf guy, It's just a truck you retarded boot licker..
I had some one in a Wrangler do that to me on a 3 lane highway where it was just the two of us.

Oh people are weird man.
But to be fair, I did have one fellow ranger owner stare at me and give me the "cool" sign.
I'm just like don't ever f'ing do that crap again.

Anyway, This seems to be a mid-size truck thing, in my F150 I've never had any one really take note of me. I could go into a long rant but I honestly can't stand most "truck guys", got some weird complex.

I think I said this story before but in my dodge dakota, I had a dodge ram pull up next to me and meth pounding redneck yelled at me "Get a real truck you [gay slur]"... Like dude, Our trucks are both dodge branded.
That's probably because there are so many F150's on the road, and Ranger 5G is the 'odd man out'

Every morning when I go to work there are cars and trucks flying by me at all kinds of crazy speeds, cutting me off, riding my bumper. Until reading this thread, I didn't realize they were all trying to race me!

Wow! Some of the responses here amaze me. If I see a Tacoma and it is a sharp truck, I give the owner a thumbs up. I have never been raced or tormented by anyone in a Tacoma. The only time I was raced and I just ignored the very young kid was in a old beat up Nissan Frontier that was dented up and looked terrible. I just let him think he was fast as his loud lack of a muffler truck went past me. Why some here would intentionally try to upset other drivers by slowing down and then speeding up because of what they drive is beyond me. That is a good way to start a road rage incident and get your ass kicked, your vehicle damaged, or end up shot......

ANY of the trucks out there now I'd be ok with , even the Nissan looks pretty good this time around ? , but Id argue the Ranger is the most "fun" of the bunch, I used to think the Taco had the best looking truck , and they do look good , hard to deny that , but I'm kinda getting over it after staring at mine the last few months ...
