If the battery in your key fob goes dead you can place you fob there and still start the truck. It's in the manual.Does anyone know why there is a picture of a key that looks like it is emitting an alarm or something under the rubber insert for the cup holders?

I've seen this posted before, but never really thought about it. Since only the Lariat has a push start, why is it in an XLT?

If you have 2 keys, and one is neutered through the MyKey programming, you place the other key here to de-program your MyKey.

If the battery in your smart key goes dead, the manual states you can place that key in this spot and it will still allow the truck to start.
Probably uses short range inductance to power the keyfob temporarily so the truck can then read the RFID code off it to allow ignition functions.

Late build, I think it was built in September 2021. I noticed it the other day when I was thoroughly cleaning the interior.
