What is this hose for?

Can anyone enlighten this noob? It runs through the right-side hood hinge, disappears behind the hood insulation pad, and I see no feature on the hood for it to connect with.

Never mind. Now I see it is the washer fluid hose. DOH!

That hose is for the emergency use of the Positive Ectoplasm Distribution Device which is automatically activated should your local Spirit Containment System become disabled. The reservoir is located elsewhere within the vehicle (you may have noticed a container with a greenish fluid located within the engine compartment). No job is too big, no fee is too big...
