Use your key to remove the plug and you insert the jack handle to winch down your spare tire.I might have missed this in the manual and a search came up blank.
I've got the trailer package and I assume it's related to this but there's key hole to the right of the license plate.
What's this for??

Note to self: Do not leave spare wheel lock on the bumper and drive away. For anyone wondering, they lock is "keyed" this is how my replacement came. Time to watch some YouTube tutorials I guess.
Cool beans. I was thinking it was the infamous tailgate lock.Spare tire access lock
Damper lock!
Since my lock is in place I'm still waiting for AZScorpion to send the damper.
You guys got my curiosity up, so I went down to my truck and checked it out. It actually is a lock. You insert your key and turn it to remove a plug that fills the access hole. Then you insert the jack handle at an angle towards the center line of the truck to reach the lowering crank. If you shine your light in the hole, you'll see a whitish plastic funnel to guide the handle to the connecting point since it is at a sharp angle.
Thank you for this.Since this thread came up I'll pass along something I did. Used the spare tire system to drop and flip over the spare so I could check the tire pressure easier. You guessed it, it was low and I had just taken delivery.
