I had a short and inglorious career as a car salesman. I learned a lot at that job and one of the things is that people who shop for a vehicle by color are profitable to sell to even when they think they are good negotiators.

At the time I bought mine, I wanted a Saber one but those didn't appear to sit on lots in WA very long... Now I think it'd be the Azure Grey.

I wanted blue or white but got stuck with BLACK. The only Lariat available on order last spring in our area. Black looks good for 15 minutes after Polishing but turns ugly fast and gets really hot in the summer sun. Life is full of compromises and Henry Ford said black or nothing.

I wasn't going to buy new, because it was too expensive.

So, with limited options, I searched for about 3 months to find the combo of color and options I wanted. If necessary, I'd still be looking.

Going to have it awhile, so there was no second place.

I was in a little bit of a time crunch so I wanted something already built and available, I couldn't wait 6 months for an ordered truck to come in. Must haves for me were Lariat and either FX4 or Tremor. First choice was black, but I would have been almost as happy in a Magnetic Grey, and I could have accepted Hot Pepper Red if I had no other choices.

I wouldn't drive a blue or white truck if they gave it to me for free ( I would have accepted it for free and had it towed to the body shop for a colour change, lol)

I lucked out. Found the color I was looking for, with the options I wanted and at the price point within a fairly close distance. But, I’ve always liked and owned white vehicles. Oxford White would’ve been awesome, too.

I drove my 94 Ranger for 26 years, new job cut my work drive from 60 to 20 miles per day so lot less miles on my 2020. Paid $395 upcharge for Rapid Red Metallic Tinted CC. If I keep this one for another 26 years that come out to less the $16 per year. Whatever it take to help me sleep at night :like:
