  1. Motorcraft spark plugs pre-gapped at .025"?

And the verdict is in... I opened a 4-pack of sp-594 plus, and all 4 appear to be gapped to .029
  2. Motorcraft spark plugs pre-gapped at .025"?

darn, I was going to suggest a brick and a chunk of a 2x4. I'm now curious, as I work in an auto parts store, I think I'll go raid our shelves and measure the gap of a samplings of SP594's
  3. Well, that's certainly different.

what makes you think it's a guy? <g>
  4. Caution!! Contains Mature Content...

I understand the "why" they do it, but I have to ask... why wouldn't they take parts (like the damper... ok, maybe the wheels and tires) to perhaps repurpose them?
  5. Problem linking Ford app to Ranger?

interesting thread, hope you fine a resolution. about 2 weeks ago I had an issue where the radio just stopped working. nothing from the radio (am/fm/sirius XM or even android auto). when I eventually did was a reset (hold the radio's power button and the seek right button -- the one on the...
  6. Is my battery on its way out

FWIW, the AGM battery at Advance Auto parts comes with a 4 year warranty, and they'll check yours for free (stupid autocorrect)
  7. Engine light won’t go away after replacing DPfE sensor

you can take it to a nationwide auto parts store and ask them to give you the codes (most won't reset the light, though). I'm in Pennsylvania, and part of the annual inspection is to check the computer for codes, and if the light was recently cleared, it will show that the computer isn't...
  8. Shift to neutral when driving

    typo, right?
  9. Innovative Ford Ranger Performance Chip - waste of $100 or not?

The key words are, "Up to". if you're getting 10mpg, and plug this thing in, and your MPG goes to 10.2 MPG, they will tell you it's working and decline a refund. keep walking, and work on your driving habits. If you find lessons on that, let me know, I apparently need them too.
  10. New Rubber!

without intending on derailing this conversation (nice trucks, btw... like the red paint) I went on Tire Rack's site, and looked around a little. Actually, I was looking to see if they still made the Long Trail T/A (they apparently don't -- had a set on my 2001 Wrangler and loved them) so...
  11. Low Coolant Levels

He didn't say Ford was going to replace it, but if they offered...
  12. Low Coolant Levels

Coolant expands as it gets hot. Could it be that the expanding coolant is simply hitting the overflow mark and being expelled while driving. And when it comes off, falls back to its previous mark? Or perhaps a leak in the coolant reservoir bottle?
  13. Help please for a non tire guy buying his first tires after OEM

came here to say this, great advice.
  14. Do I need Injection Cleaning Done on my Ranger?

Seafoam is pretty cool, actually. Did you know: * If you use about 1 ounch per quart of oil in the crankcase, maybe about 100 miles before you change your oil, it'll help get more gunk out when you drain the oil? * what is now "high mileage" Seafoam is the original formula before they were...
  15. 5 Years Today & a Camp-out at Blackwater Forest in NW Florida

I don't care for fish in general, but I like fishing (catch & release)
  16. Fluid Disposal - Where to go?

I think it's something that people do, like we're going to charge people to take their used oil, so they "dump" it at our door. doesn't happen a lot, but it happens. Even if our drums are full, if you bring it in using a disposable container, I'll take it, and save it for one of our...
  17. Fluid Disposal - Where to go?

anyone else remember hearing about a 1963 issue of Popuar Mechanics which suggested you dig a deep hole in your back yard, and fill it with gravel, and dump your used motor oil in the hole?
  18. Fluid Disposal - Where to go?

we won't take used oil if its brought in a laundry detergent container. it contaminates the oil and creates all sorts of problems for us
  19. Fluid Disposal - Where to go?

I work for a national auto parts chain store. we take used oil (engine oil, transmission fluid, all goes in the same tank, but no gasoline). We don't make anything on accepting the used oil (in fact, we pay a company to take it away). a couple local shops we deal with will take the oil and...
