I think that is the storm that just went through the end of last week, and weekend. What a mess, shut down and closed everything. I-80 / Donner Pass was closed for 5 days.

I know you guys know how to deal with snow. Most Californians can't handle a rain drop.

Be Safe.

NUTS! Cold hard nuts! By the boxload! =D

After much reading on this forum and words of wisdom from the inimitable Phil, plus lots of thought from many others smarter than me, I went with Dorman.

They ain't fancy and Soupie's not a pretty princess (especially w/o @AzBugGuy with all the graphene pressure - sheesh!). =p

They seemed like a good bet for those steelies and I'll know once I compare them with the stock ones. The chatter here about nuts getting frozen on and dealers wanting to charge $$$ to fix it was all I needed to order yet something else. Plus I get to pull out the impact wrench and feel all manly (although my shoulders will cry later).

I do like that the threading seems deeper (I almost went with open lugs nuts since that's all I know, but I guess we can be a little fancy to go along with our classy front chain. =D

3 boxes of 10, so a few spare nuts ...

bah, don't like the Made in China bit but it sure seems like they pass all sorts of American testing and certification

Heat shrink and 2 waterproof junction boxes to limit the wire runs to the rear of the truck.... Each junction box will run a pair of flood lights on the side of the truck...

And the heat shrink will ensure I get nice looking connections on the back of the deutsch connectors for the lights and chase light bar...

Hopefully the weather hold and I can get it all wired up tomorrow....

Just to be clear, I haven't washed my truck and this is coming my way, still.

The flange doesn't touch the wheel.

By golly, you're right! =)

nice fit on the new nut and the bevel looks right
20240307_110048.webp

Dorman on the right, I guess they do look more solid, seems like better steel anyway
20240307_110106.jpg

Dorman has a taller but narrower cap and is solid steel as opposed to that thin cap on the OEMs
20240307_110112.webp

Dorman "may" have one more thread in it ... I used the official how-many-clicks-of-a-sliding-toothpick counting method - the Dorman may be a gram heavier according to a scale. I'll need to weigh out like 10 of each to get a more accurate measurement
20240307_105920.jpg

Don't fret, for those of you that like pics of my nuts, I'm sure I'll post them in nauseating detail once I change them all out. =D

Please post photos when you weigh your nuts. Are you gonna weigh them together or separately ?
