Did both of you miss the tailgate holding it in place, too, and serving as an instant patio when they get to where they're going?

Don't worry, @AzScorpion sold them a bunch of extra dampers to reinforce the tailgate.
Yes I guess they will be fine, as long as they don't have to turn corners, or manage side slopes.

Just looked it up. While we don’t know how he spec’d his camper, the basic unit would be coming in at just over 1K pounds. So if two people are traveling I guess they could each pack a tooth brush and one extra pair of underwear and not exceed the max capacity of the duckmobile.

As was said earlier… people.

I try to find an empty space on the left side of a cart corral. Then I crowd it as close as I dare. Then I have one side protected and leave an extra wide space on the other side.

That sounds like a Monty Python sketch.
The thing I found hardest to get used to when we've visited the US was watching water going down the plug hole the wrong way, and inadvertently looking the wrong way before crossing the street.
Since primary school, you have drilled into you look to the right, look to the left, and look to the right again. That's a recipe for disaster in the US, Canada, and Europe.
You don't have to look either way. Cars must yield to pedestrians- it's the law!

So right. Twenty five years later and I still find myself looking the wrong way.

It is the law but unfortunately many (drivers) don't remember/know this.

A few years back I was walking out of Safeway and an SUV was flying through the strip mall and almost hit me as I was walking out the front entrance. I saw her coming but still kept walking and will admit that time I was nervous she was going to hit me.

Of course she had the nerve to yell at me like it was my fault. Someone else yelled back at her to "slow down, pedestrians have the right of way". Just like driving you need to always be on the lookout and even walk defensively because so many are just clueless now! 🤬

You probably interrupted her game of Candy Crush by walking in front of her.

Are you so heartless that you do not even care how long it took her to get to that level?

Maybe now.....but years ago cars came with a "Bullseye" hood ornament that doubled as a sight for those pedestrians that were not quick enough.....

I try not to park next to any other vehicles when grocery shopping. As other supercab owners know, it's difficult to get the groceries in the back seat with vehicles parked beside.

So last winter I went to Kroger early on a Sunday morning, and even though there was hardly anyone there, I parked out a ways just in case. When I got back to my truck, I found this Ranger wannabe parked here:

Go figure.

That is typically how it works! All of those other spots just don't cut it

Nah Mercedes Benz ones were better, just like a rifle sight, typical teutonic precision.
