Me and the foreman (Cheech) just went and picked this up. I'm off tomorrow and promised I'd help our elderly neighbor with her leaves (which are all from my giant oak tree).

It really sucks. Well, I hope it does! =D

Why do you think he bought it? I think he ran out of stuff at his house to dump so now he's hitting up all the neighbors for theirs.

Dropped the Ranger off for service. Auto stop/start hasn't been working for a while and getting close to end of warranty. They said they would throw it on the Ford battery tester which will run for 3 or 4 hours and then check the charging system.
Of course the change oil soon warning came on yesterday so will have that done along with a tire rotation. I must be getting old to let that happen.
Getting an appointment at the dealer I bought the Ranger at was impossible. Online they don't have anything available until end of November and I called 5 times and either didn't get an answer or was disconnected. I ended up getting an appointment at the dealer I bought my Fusion at which is 10 minutes further away.
Hoping for a new battery at no cost.
Got the Ranger back today and the Auto Start/Stop works again. New battery installed, and they are waiting on a Battery Monitor Sensor to come in since it was still not working right when they tested again. All station presets stayed and all forescan changes remained. Auto lights were off as I found out tonight while wondering why the screen was so bright. They lost their chance for an oil change and tire rotation since they didn't do it and I'll do it this weekend.
And does anyone know how difficult it is to call a dealer service department and talk to someone? I called about 10 times between yesterday and today and either went to a voicemail box that was full or got disconnected after a bunch of rings. I guess I should expect to be kept in the dark until they are ready to call me.

These days the dealerships are overwhelmed in the service departments. There's either time for answering the phones or time for making the phone calls to chase parts, warranty, etc.. Sometimes it's nearly impossible to get past the BDC. You can try getting the service manager's number directly next time you're in. Just approach him/her directly and explain you have some concerns about communication and you'd just like to stay in touch. But, when it's done, it's done - calling them to check in on a vehicle doesn't get the vehicle done any faster, and they're not going to want it sitting around on the lot after it's completed so they'll call you then for sure. But, if you want to get in touch with someone, you gotta just keep after them. It's a frustrating dance.

In customer service, it's good to give updates even if it isn't what the customer wants to hear. In my case, I was expecting to have the Ranger back that day. I heard nothing and wanted to know when it would be done so I could plan accordingly. When I dropped it off, there were 3 service advisors and I was rhe only one at the desk. Never heard phones ringing. When I picked it up, 2 service advisors, I was the only customer, no phones ringing. They were bs'ing during those times. Leads me to believe the phones don't actually ring to the service advisors desk unless you call thier extension directly. Or they have them silenced. Either way, I called during the times I picked up and dropped off and they clearly could have answered calls as they were not busy at all.
Plenty of people waiting in the lobby and cars in the bays, but not with the service advisors.

Yeah, the phones rarely ring directly to the service advisors. Most dealerships ring to the BDC (Business Development Center) and they route the calls to service or sales from there.
