Big week for the ranger. Drove 4hrs down to St. George for a quick spring camping getaway. 80mph right into the wind the whole time returned some of my worst milage ever. 18.9 on the computer and 17.8 hand calc.

Drove up a super steep, very rough forest service road to get to our campsite. 4hi was plenty, the road didn't have much articulation so didn't need the locker. Just had to go super slow to keep my head from hitting the door or roof! Good view from the tent this morning.

Man, that's beautiful country. I could drive and hike for weeks in southern Utah.

Yesterday, wifey & I drove into Tampa to go to St Joseph's Hospital to visit with my Cardiologist/Surgeon to discuss my forthcoming Open Heart Surgery. (For those of you not familiar with the exact location of the St Joseph's complex, it is a stones throw away from Raymond James Stadium where the Bucs play).

I don't yet have a date for this surgery and I'm keeping the phone lines open for the call!!!

However, on the drive home to Plant City and while traveling north on Highway 301, we heard that awful loud click noise. Wifey said, "What was that?" I said, "I bet it could be another windshield chip."

Sure enough, that's exactly what it is!!!

Got home, called our insurance agent, said why I called, and she asked if K&K Glass was okay, and I said, "sure, they've been here twice already. Once for a stone chip, and then again because the windshield they installed had an imperfection right smack dab in the middle of it that once you saw it, it would never go away".

Anyhow, K&K will be out to the house next Wednesday, unless, of course, I get a call from the Hospital for surgery before next Wednesday. (Fingers crossed!!!)

Picture of chip is attached, and it looks just like a bird flying in the sky. By the way, if you have Comprehensive Insurance in Florida, windshields are covered 100% with no deductible.

Canadian prices, brace yourselves...

Mobil 1 full synthetic oil is on sale this week. I switched to their Truck and SUV blend, because I work the 2.3 pretty hard. On sale it was $37 for 5 quarts, I bought all 5 jugs they had in stock. I was down to 8q on my stock shelf, so now I'm good for 6 oil changes again.

After tax, 6.2q is almost $53, and the oil filter @ $13 makes a driveway oil change ~$65 CDN.

I was planning on having the dealer do my 4 oil changes while under warranty, but just couldn't being myself to do it.

Ughhhhh. I suffered Florida's crappy drivers while getting out and about looking for pants to wear to my new job. For all of the frustration, I ended up only finding one pair of pants that fit me. At least I got a sweet Hot Wheels Ford Mustang set at Target, an anniversary card to give to my wife, and some M&Ms for her. :)

Sorry to hear this - wishing you a speedy and complete recovery. May you return to your old negative self soon!
I'm negative again! W0h0!

Damn covid-19 started on 8th April and I'm still not fully up and running. Got this dry cough on-going and I feel like not all the Moomins have returned to the valley. But summers coming.

I can only dream of the things I would have done with my Ranger had she been here...
Head to the Golf Course for a round of Golf, followed by a bubble bath and detailing.
Instead, I just looked at her glamour shots from Ford's website and thought about the day when she would arrive here from the factory.

Picked up some dirt for a gardening project. Two scoops from a skidsteer, maybe slightly less than a yards worth. Only had to go 3 miles on 25mph roads, but it was definitely overloaded. Would have been more careful about payload if I had to go any real distance. Not doing this every day. The ranger handled it!

I installed a Ford Perimeter Security system (KN1Z19A361A) and the long range antennae (JS7Z15603A) in my 2021 Ranger XLT, there is a jumper that you install in the module that enables me to remote start my truck with my two button key fob. Also sends to my phone a notification through the Ford App of any alarm.
How was the install of the perimeter security alarm? Worth it? Thinking about installing on my xlt
