  1. Anyone had their transmission simply not respond, when flooring it?

I have had this happen several times. Usually it is when the vehicle is cold, or just after start up. I will put it in D, slowly roll out of my spot and putz through the parking lot/my driveway whatever, and then when I start to get on the gas nothing happens. I am always still rolling a bit...
  2. What's the fastest you've made it to 10k miles?

Got my Ranger March 29th 2021. Got the oil changed on September 21st 2021 with 11,481mi on the clock. Probably hit 10k around September 1st, so about 5 months.
  3. Payload?? How much can I dump in the bed?

My Scab is rated for 1620lbs from the factory. I've had 2400lbs in the bed before (plus me and my girlfriend) and that was too much. We were only going about 2 miles, never above 35mph, but it was bottomed right out. Second biggest load was about 1600lbs (again, plus me and girlfriend) and while...
  4. What are you guys towing?

Converting our lawn to rock, more appropriate in our desert climate. First heavy hauling with the ranger, several trips worth. Had a yard of mulch in the bed here, (1000-1200lbs) and 2000lbs of flagstone in the trailer. Picked up two yards gravel in the orange home depot trailer, was...
  5. 2022 transmission needs "overhaul" - just left the dealer.

My truck has always had some "weird" shifting. Occasionally some hard shifts on deceleration. The most annoying thing is slow acceleration in 1st, before it shifts into 2nd and jets off like a rocket since the revs are high and I'm in the boost. I think I'll bring it up at my next service. To be...
  6. 5G Ranger's Hauling Things Thread

I can't believe some of you people afraid to get your truck dirty! A guy in a thread I was reading yesterday was upset because he got RAIN on his truck lmao. Take that tremor into a corn field on a wet day and give it the mudbath it deserves!! I'm with the Warden on this one, trucks are made to...
  7. High Mileage Ranger Report

Glad to hear your truck is working well at nearly 100k! Mine had the wastegate replaced under warranty at 34k miles, but otherwise has been flawless. Only at 36k now but hoping for 200k at least. In my stock 4x4 supercab I averaged about 26mpg this summer, hand calculated. The dash showed as...
  8. Lowered Ranger.....lol

It is mostly Taco guys with the lifted trucks I am referring to. When we go to southern Utah to camp, I see so many cool rigs but I shake my head thinking about how much money was spent to get a taco to the same spot as a honda odyssey.
  9. Lowered Ranger.....lol

I hate to say it but lifted trucks serve no purpose for 99% of people who have them lifted. It is more about the look than actual function. A stock height ranger is pretty high already, and can tackle rougher trails than 99% of lifted rangers will ever drive on. Some brave folks actually do...
  10. What did you do to your Ranger today?

Whenever I bring mine to the dealer for an oil change (which is around $70 for fomoco synth blend) They do the multipoint inspection with a battery test, tire pressure etc. Seems like you got taken for a ride. I got screwed last time when I asked for a new cabin air filter, which they charged...
  11. Is the 'Fake Engine Noise' for real?

I just got forscan to update my tire size but figured I would disable the fake noise while I was in there, turns out on my 21 XL it is disabled from the factory. Maybe it is just a thing on the higher trim levels to make them seem more sporty.
  12. Check engine P29AB P0299, Limp mode

Finally was able to make it out of the mountains and drop the ranger off last friday. Dealer did some pinpoint testsand determined that the whole wastegate did need replaced. Job was done by Tuesday, no charge, all covered by the standard warranty. They completed all three recalls for the...
  13. Check engine P29AB P0299, Limp mode

Got into the ranger on Friday night to make a short trip down to the local watering hole to catch some live music, and was greeted with the wrench icon and check engine light. Fordpass said it was okay to drive vehicle but to take it to the dealership. Made the less than 3 mile trip without...
  14. When to use 4WD and when not? Need to know..

I wouldn't be in 4wd on that road but I doubt it will hurt anything. If you're spinning from stoplights then it is a good idea to be in 4wd. If I am going 50mph+ it is likely not slippery enough to be in 4wd.
  15. Rangers in SNOW

I couldn't imagine living anywhere else... because nowhere else gets as much snow! ? In all seriousness, I'm happy to have free parking, free skiing, and a schedule that allows me to ski the greatest snow on earth six days a week. I love shovelling my truck out because it means I spent the...
  16. Rangers in SNOW

A few pics from last weeks epic storm here in Utah. Alta is reporting nearly 70" total. Been so busy skiing and working had no time to post. Pics of the ranger are after cleaning nearly 30 inches off of it once already. Another 30 magically appeared a day later! The landscape pic is of our...
  17. Were 2019 Rangers Built Better?

Yeah the hood struts are the one deleted item I would be really pissed about. My early 21 has them thankfully. Tie downs, badges, lights etc don't really bother me and the rocker plugs were easy enough to add.
  18. Anyone hit the magic 100k mileage yet?

Did the dealer have any idea why it happened? Powerboost is a dream truck for me, some serious $$ though and honestly driving the smaller ranger is so much more enjoyable around town and off road. Drove a E250 extended for 5 years and an Excursion after that so the ranger feels like a race car...
  19. Ranger 5 Shortfalls

Pretty sure you need about an ounce of water per lb of body weight to be properly hydrated. I'm not trying to carry 175oz of water in the cupholder, but the standard 32oz bottle that is used by millions of people should be able to fit. I drive across country twice a year, and so I spend at least...
  20. Lets talk tires... and weight

We run these on our 4x4 sprinter shuttle van at the ski area, and I am always impressed how they do in the snow, even when compared to a true snow tire. Not as good on ice, but in loose or packed snow they bite really well.
