Hi Duke,

There was a Titan Silo outside my grand parent's house in Conway Springs Kansas...Population 600. The one here in Green Valley it is amazing that it is still classified where in the world this missile was aimed.....Mum is the word.... Dido for the Conway Springs Missile and this silo was blown up and filled in.... Titan Missile was interesting in that the fuel was hypergolic. The twin tanks of fuel when mixed self ignited...no spark required.

As I recall, Titan was used on the Gemini spacecraft...very dangerous during the "space race"...Astronauts sure had guts....

Here is some missile control equipment with a Ford tie in. At one time Ford owned Philco. One of the things they made was missile launch control systems. In 1969 when the Kentucky Truck Plant was built, they used one of their missile controls to monitor and control some of the plant equipment. State of the art at the time. The "programming" was on a punched tape that you see at the bottom . I salvaged the operator panel when it was decommissioned and hung it in our training center. Some joker put the Apollo 13 on the top.

I saw that on the news. Wow!!! Thats awesome. Driving down pit lane at Indy:thumbsup:. Did I see that they actually gave the shots in the garage area? Glad you got your shots.

I had been to every 500 since 1987. Even went back on the rain delayed ones. Of course that was until 2020. The only consolation is that almost no one else got attend.

I got my second shot a week ago Thursday and I am so looking forward to this years race. I hope I can get all 4 of my tickets in the South west vista deck.
Yep we came in off 16th Street in front of the museum and then they directed us thru an actual garage , stopped on gasoline alley under the sign, got our shots there then drove down pit lane to the gravel lot next to the hospital to wait 15 minutes to make sure there wasn't a bad reaction. Gave us a half off coupon to get into the museum but it's only valid this weekend, not sure if we will go. There doing the shots from Friday thru Monday, they have it running like clockwork , we came in and left in less than 30 minutes, they are vaccinating 14,000 people there Fri-Mon. Governor drove thru Friday. Having everyone pre registered in advance helped alot.

That's the 3rd vehicle I've had the honor of driving there, a mustang at an outing and twice in an advanced Evo instructor course. I have an in car video of that somewhere, if you dropped below 100mph anywhere on the track you failed the entire week. Doing emergency lane changes in curves and straightaways and evasive maneuvers.

My unmarked crown vic did fine, never hit the brake, scrubbed off the speed in the turns due to tires and suspension. I had a Vascar unit in my car and from being stopped, leaving pits, taking 4 laps and coming back and stopping at the same spot my average speed was only 111 mph, darn governors!!

Guy who had the fastest elapsed time was an undercover excise officer who was driving a full-time 4x4 jeep Cherokee, his stiff suspension meant he never lost speed in the corners, his lap average was 120+.
Ill have to see if I can find a picture.

Wife and I drove onto the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the new single dose covid vaccine, it's a safer alternative for her immune system. Post a couple of pics and if I am lucky I can upload a short video clip.

Took mine for a drive up old NC 105, from Lake James to Linville. Gorgeous day in NC.

I drove it to work for the first time in four months.

We’re getting some spring weather a bit early and homeowners are anxious to get their outdoor projects going. I’ve been careful to avoid renos in condos and homes that are still occupied. I’m happy it’s warming up so I can work outside. Low to mid-60s but, heck yeah, that’s t-shirt weather.

Edit: As an added bonus, I heard a news report that pharmacies were receiving early shipments of the COVID-19 vaccine so they could be administered before their April expiry date. They opened up the age of eligibility so I fired up True North and headed to my local Shopper’s Drug Mart to get my shot.

I’m certain this short trip delivered my worst gas mileage ever and if I didn’t have gas in my oil, I’m sure I do now. It wasn’t as exciting as @Fawnbuster ’s trip to Indianapolis Speedway, but I bet I drove there as fast as Mike wanted to drive when he was heading down Pit Lane.

Took a trip out to the levee this early morning to try and see the SpaceX Starlink launch. Phone couldn’t capture much, but you can faintly make out the Falcon 9 booster at full throttle.

Nothing much. Packed the bed full of Husqvarna labeled stuff and drove to a forest. Come to think of it, that's 5th time in the 9 days I've own it :)

Prolly need to take out the whole damn thing and replant something else.

Yesterday I tested my Ranger again. Rented a 6x12 U-Haul trailer and hauled two loads of VERY heavy Oak rounds about 50 miles. These were from cleanup of the recent ice storm at my Inlaws place. I'm happy to report the truck performed extremely well. My wife and father in law were worried we wouldn't be able to make it up the hill. :)

I'm, guessing it was probably 5-6000 pounds - the trailer was 1800. At any rate, it was a very good load and I didn't feel like it was struggling at all. I never had to go past probably half throttle even on the good inclines.

I continue to be very impressed with the abilities of this truck.

Went to Home Depot and flexed on a Gladiator Rubicon - they look so much bigger on TV.
